how to play online with another person?
Could someone help me how to get started on playing onlline together with another person on a laptop. Can TheComplete Saga be played this way at all? They are in the US and I am in Europe. I already bought the game. Do they need to register on steam and buy the game as well?
All help is appreciated. Thanks

No online features are present in this game whatsoever.

could you tell me what feature to look for in a game to be able to play this way? could you recommend a lego game that would allow such play?

As far as I know, no LEGO games support this feature.

Not sure, but I know that all PC ports have no compatibility with online whatsoever. I wish they did though...

Yes, Xbox 360 version should support online co-op for 2 players. I haven't tested it, so you should try it yourself.

it is sad because i bought the complete saga to be able to play it online with my son.
could any of you recommend a game on pc suitable for 8 yr old that could be played online with each other but not against each other?

One thing I would recommend is getting an Xbox 360 controller (wired) to play with your son on the same laptop. You can hook up two controllers if you like, or you can do one keyboard and one controller. If you're set on getting a new game, I would recommend Portal 2 as it has a short but challenging co-op experience. It goes on sale frequently for 75% off ($5 USD).

thanks for the info, i'll look at that game. Actually i think we would each need a wired controller since we are not playing on the same laptop. We both need to buy the game separately too right?
Will this game feature the online co-op mode?

Portal 2 does indeed have online co-op (it's very short). You both need a seperate copy. It has some pretty nifty co-op features.

However the most time-worthy game in my opinion is every LEGO game. They're just too good. I envy your for having somebody to play with, my evenings are spent playing alone.

If your are trying to play with your son why do you need to play online. You said he is only 8 yrs so I assume he hasnt moved out of mommy and daddys yet. You should just try playing on one computer because this game supports local co-op.

mrbud420 we are trying to play online for the simple reason because we are an ocean away from each other.

The Lego games don't have online coop on the Xbox 360, except apparently for the Star Wars Complete Saga. As for PC, you're out of luck.

For online coop games, this site is my reference.

Were you born insensitive or do you work hard to get that way?

There are plenty of people who for one reason or another are not able to live in the same house as their children. And for the record, my 8 yr old son hasnt 'moved out of mommy and daddys yet' either. I am the unlucky one who had to move out.

To the OP, I wish you all the best finding a game to play together, this is the best and actually only reason i would ever need to play a game against someone I wasnt in the same room with. Online play seems pointless otherwise.
