could any of you recommend a game on pc suitable for 8 yr old that could be played online with each other but not against each other?
Will this game feature the online co-op mode?
However the most time-worthy game in my opinion is every LEGO game. They're just too good. I envy your for having somebody to play with, my evenings are spent playing alone.
If your are trying to play with your son why do you need to play online. You said he is only 8 yrs so I assume he hasnt moved out of mommy and daddys yet. You should just try playing on one computer because this game supports local co-op.
For online coop games, this site is my reference.

Were you born insensitive or do you work hard to get that way?
There are plenty of people who for one reason or another are not able to live in the same house as their children. And for the record, my 8 yr old son hasnt 'moved out of mommy and daddys yet' either. I am the unlucky one who had to move out.
To the OP, I wish you all the best finding a game to play together, this is the best and actually only reason i would ever need to play a game against someone I wasnt in the same room with. Online play seems pointless otherwise.
