MacOs Catalina

I do have a gaming pc to play this on, but I was recently gifted a macbook and as catlina doesn't support 32- it games, i was wondering of there was anyway to make this/launch it as a 64 bit game. i've edited the set launch option to -64bit, as this is what has allowed me to play a few 32 bit games on catalina, but sadly it doesn't work with this game. any ideas?

side note: I know about virtual machine and how to set it up, i was just wondering if there was way to do it just through steam

It looks like Steam doesn't have a way to do this, so a VM or some other non-steam workaround looks like the way to go.
