General information about wheels and gamepads in Bus Simulator 16

Bus Simulator 16 is optimized for Logitech wheels but supports a large number of additional steering wheels, such as:

Logitech:

• G27
  
• G29
  
• G920
  
• Driving Force GT

Saitek:

• Farming Simulator Controller

Speedlink:

• Drift o.z. Racing Wheel
  
• Darkfire Racing Wheel

Hama:

• Racing Wheel "Thunder V18"
  
• Racing Wheel "Thunder V5"

Gamepads:

• XBOX 360 Controller
  
• XBOX One Controller

Every other game pad or steering wheel should also be recognized by Bus Simulator 16. After connecting your device to your computer, you can adjust it in the options menu under the tab "Steering".

Force Feedback and DirectInput and XInput interface

Bus Simulator 16 has been optimized for steering wheels which support the DirectInput interface. If your steering wheel supports DirectInput, you can enjoy all force feedback functions of your steering wheel. XInput devices will offer rumble functions only. If your device doesn't support DirectInput, you can of course still play the Bus Simulator 16 without any problems.
In case that you do not know if your steering wheel supports DirectInput or XInput and you are unable to find any information about this in this thread, we recommend to get in touch with the maker of your steering wheel for further information.

Force Feedback und die DirectInput bzw. XInput-Schnittstelle

Der Bus-Simulator 16 ist für Lenkräder mit der DirectInput-Schnittstelle optimiert. Unterstützt dein Lenkrad diese Schnittstelle, dann kannst du in den Genuss aller Force-Feedback-Funktionen deines Lenkrades kommen. Bei XInput-Lenkrädern stehen dir unterdessen lediglich die Rumble-Funktionen zur Verfügung. Ist dein Lenkrad nicht DirectInput-fähig, kannst du damit natürlich trotzdem damit den Bus-Simulator 16 problemlos spielen.
Wenn du nicht weißt, ob dein Lenkrad diese Schnittstellen unterstützt und du keine Informationen dazu in diesem Thread findest, kontaktiere bitte den Hersteller deines Lenkrades für weitere Informationen.

Information about Logitech wheels

Bus Simulator 16 has been optimized for Logitech wheels and supports the Logitech gaming SDK. Should you encounter any problems, please install the correct driver for your device:

• Users of the G29 Racing Wheel and other devices supported by the Logitech Gaming Software please install the latest version of the LGS (8.x) for windows: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/lgs
  
• Users of older steering wheels (like the Driving Force GT and G27), which are not recognized by LGS 8.x, please install the Logitech Gaming Software 5.10.127 which is available here: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/lgs#previous-versions

Important note 1: Please make sure that the Combined Pedals option is deactivated. Otherwise it could happen that your character is running backwards.

Important note 2: If your steering wheel won't work ingame start the game, open it's settings menu, select "Game" and switch the "Mouse-Steering" settings to "Off".

Der Bus-Simulator 16 wurde für Logitech-Lenkräder optimiert und verwendet auch das Logitech Gaming SDK. Solltest du dennoch Probleme bei der Erkennung oder Einstellung deines Logitech-Lenkrades haben, stelle bitte sicher, dass du den richtigen Treiber für dein Lenkrad installiert hast:

• Nutzer des G29 Racing Wheels und anderer von der Logitech Gaming Software unterstützen Geräte installieren bitte die aktuellst Version des LGS (8.x): http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/lgs
  
• Nutzer älterer Lenkräder, die von der LGS 8.x nicht erkannt werden (z.B. Driving Force GT, Logitech G27) installieren unterdessen bitte die Logitech Gaming Software 5.10.127: http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/lgs#previous-versions

Wichtiger Hinweis 1: Die Option Combined Pedals darf beim Spielen mit einem Logitech-Lenkrad nicht aktiviert sein. Sonst kann es vorkommen, dass dein Charakter rückwärts läuft.

Wichtiger Hinweis 2: Sollte sich das Spiel mit dem Lenkrad nicht steuern lassen, startet bitte das Spiel, öffnet die Optionen und stellt im Spiel-Menü die Mousesteering-Option auf "Aus".

Information about Thrustmaster wheels

If you encounter any problems with your Thrustmaster steering wheel, please try the following solutions :

1. Go to http://ts.thrustmaster.com/eng/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=2&pid=316&cid=15 , choose your steering wheel and dowload the most current driver software
   
2. Install the driver software after the download is complete
   
3. After the installation please open the folder Thrustmaster (Windows 10: all Apps // Windows 7,8: all programs)
   
4. Please choose Properties and configure your steering wheel like shown below:

Informationen über Thrustmaster-Lenkräder

Wenn du Probleme mit deinem Thrustmaster-Lenkrad hast, probiere bitte folgende Vorgehensweise aus:

1. Unter: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/ger/index.php?pg=view_files&gid=1&fid=2&pid=316&cid=15 das passende Lenkrad auswählen und die Treibersoftware downloaden.
   
2. Nach dem Download den Treiber/ der Firmware installieren.
   
3. Nach der Installation kann unter Alle Apps (Windows10) bzw. alle Programme (Windows 7/8) im Ordner Thrustmaster die Systemsteuerung geöffnet werden. Dort können unter dem Reiter Eigenschaften folgende Konfigurationen festgelegt werden.

That link is only for the 32-bit version, the download for the 64-bit version doesn't work, but we can find it here... http://support.logitech.com/en_us/category/gaming
My old Driving Force PRO wheel works great with this game in Win10 with the 5.10.127 64-bit drivers (lgs510_x64.exe)
G25, G27 and GT use the same drivers as the PRO ((lgs510_x64.exe)

I'm not a Windows user. Problem with G25 is not fault of developer, this is fault of Logitech. I just install FreeTheWheel app for Mac OS X and now G25 work correctly with game. Thanks.

@Olaf: Das klingt nach einer falsch eingestellten Empfindlichkeit deines Lenkrads. Am besten spielst du mal mit den Einstellungen herum, um das für dich beste Ergebnis zu erzielen.

Habe gerade eine 40 Minuten Tour mit dem G27 Lenkrad abgeschlossen - hat richtig Spaß gemacht. Nutze Logitech 5.10 64 Bit Software und habe für den Bus Simulator dort ein eigenes Profil erstellt. Die Force Feedback Kräfte sind meines Erachtens zu Stark, selbst wenn man auf 0,1 runter regelt im Spiel, kämpft man noch zu dolle - wer mal einen Busfahrer beobachtet, sieht wie leichtgängig die Servolenkung sein sollte. Gut, dass ich eine Funktastatur mit Trackpad habe, da ich nicht alle Funktionen auf dem Wheel unterbringen konnte / wollte (hatte irgendwann genug vom konfigurieren^^). Einige Dinge kann man einfach nicht ohne Tastatur erledigen (wenn man beispielsweise ne klemmende Tür gängig machen muss). Trotzdem: weiter so Leute, das Spiel ist echt Prima! Mir fehlt nur noch ne SteamOS Version für die SteamMachine - am Besten auch mit Wheel Support :)

Just finished a 40 minute tour with the G27 wheel - and it was a lot of fun. I am using the 5.10 64 bit version of the logitech software and created a profile for the bus simulator. The force feedback forces are a bit too strong, even if you reduce them to 0,1 in the game, you are having to fight a lot - if you observe a real bus driver, you see how easy a servo wheel is going. I am glad that I got a remote keyboard with track pad since some functions are not available using the wheel (for example to release a door). Anyway: keep it up, the game is very nice! Only thing I am missing is a SteamOS version for my SteamMachine - also with Wheel Support!

Für Interessierte, meine Belegung der G27 Buttons:

Lenkrad:

L1: Blinker links	R1: Blinker rechts
L2: Licht	R2: Scheibenwischer (fehlt!)
L3: Hupe	R3: Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzer
Wippe L: nach links schauen	Wippe R: nach rechts schauen

H-Shifter:
Button oben: Rampe
Button links: Haltestellenbremse
Button rechts: Parkbremse
Button unten: Absenken

D-Pad hoch: Motor starten
D-Pad links: hier hätte ich gern Klimaanlage kälter
D-Pad rechts: hier hätte ich gern Klimaanlage wärmer
D-Pad runter: hier hätte ich gern "Situation beheben"

Roter Button 1: Tür 1
Roter Button 2: Tür 2
Roter Button 3: Tür 3
Roter Button 4: Innenspiegel

Gang 3: Hoch schalten (hier hätte ich gern Gang "D"rive)
Gang 4: Runter schalten (hier hätte ich gern Gang "R"everse)

Wie man sieht, sind hier ein paar Wünsche / Verbesserungsvorschläge versteckt:

• Es sollte möglich sein, die Steuerung der Klimaanlage und den Scheibenwischer mit Tasten / Buttons zu belegen.
  
• Um nicht vom Wheel zur Tastatur wechseln zu müssen, sollte es möglich sein, Situationen wie verklemmte Türen lösen, per Knopfdruck zu beheben.
  
• Force Feedback Effekte zu stark - Einstellungen im Menü haben keinen Effekt
  
• Der Gang sollte mit dem H-Shifter gewählt werden können, in der jetzigen Version kann man nur hoch und runter schalten und muss den Hebel dazu einmal in die Gangposition und wieder auf Neutral setzen.

Don't select automatic gears but manual, then it should work.

There does not seem to be an option to select between automatic or manual transmission (and yet it does have mapping for gear selection), as far as I can see.
