Game wont start

everytime i go to start up the game it just crashes, not error messages or anything. i tried changing the compatibility and tried launching through both .exe files and its still not working i am out of ideas at this point and im kinda mad bc i paid for the game so any help would be appreciated

Try this. right click the game, go to properties, local files and verify integrity of game files. mine seemed to have an issue with corrupting the files while i was downloading the game.

Have you skipped the launcher and ran the actual game .exe from the folder ?

What OS, specs, etc? Native resolution? exception added to the anti-virus? page file on or off?

I'm going to assume you are on windows 10. (since you didn't list OS) Even though the game was not made for windows 10.
I'll also assume you are running 1080 res or less. (since you didn't list resolution) And the game has a max res so higher will likely be problematic without the community mod.
I'll assume your specs are suitable? (since you did not list them)

Can you list and index of your files? I have 1,973 Files, 14 Folders. (to be sure it installed correctly)
And I'll assume you have the page file on, and preferably 5GB or windows adjustable.

mine won't start too, though I started 2 times in the past but now, nothing. Now, I've repeated my procedure for 3 hours. I need some help, try and error or searching for a solution isn't the clue for me anymore.

It worked in the past? Have you changed anything? Drivers? Windows updates?

Did you verify the game integrity ?

Yes I verified it, several times btw. As it worked the second time I deleted the desktop shortcut but I don't see any correlation between deleting a desktop shortcut and a not working game.

You're starting the launcher or the main .exe ?

Yes, Win7 and XP (all packs)

Then, I have a Win11 machine with a Radeon RX 5700 with an intel i5 9600k. My monitor is 3440x1440, so I played the opening sequence in stretched mode. On Friday I edited the config.xml to 3440x1440 and back to 1920x1080 after it didn't work (it's still not working). Now it only contains this text:

I only use the Windows defender and because none window pops up after starting SWTFU I assume that it doesn't cause the problem.
