Fix for "ExceptionOnConnect" error when joining or hosting a game
If you get the "Cause: ExceptionOnConnect" error when trying to join or host a game, it’s likely because you’re on Wi-Fi instead of a wired connection. I've found an easy fix by adding a fake Ethernet adapter and bridging it with your Wi-Fi.

Here are the steps:
1. Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
2. Click Action → Add legacy hardware.
3. If Action is missing, press "Alt" to reveal the menu.
4. Choose Install the hardware that I manually select from a list → Click Next.
5. Scroll down and select Network Adapters → Click Next.
6. Choose Microsoft as the manufacturer.
7. Select Microsoft KM-TEST Loopback Adapter.
8. Install it and restart your PC.
9. Open Network Connections (Win + R, type ncpa.cpl, and press Enter).
10. Select both your Wi-Fi adapter and the newly created Loopback Adapter (Ctrl + Click to select both).
11. Right-click and choose Bridge Connections.
12. Wait for the bridge to be created, then restart your PC.
13. Enjoy!

Hope this works for you as well!

Sadly, that's the only workaround I've found.

This didn't work for us. Instead what worked for my friends was to quickly disable IPv6 in the LAN/WLAN adapter settings.
You can do this by following these steps:
Win+R -> ncpa.cpl -> Enter
Then right click your current network adapter, select Properties, untick IPv6 and hit OK. With this configuration you should be able to join/create the lobby.
Don't forget to undo the setting after you joined.
