you can play solo, as of joining lobbies nothing yet. you can join open lobbies but otherwise im pretty sure its invite only after that

You can play solo.
You can't join random lobbies without codes/link invites though. its why people keep posting in discussions to join from profile, add as friend or using link invites because the game doesn't have matchmaking yet.
