The built-in microphone does not work on the Steam Deck.
I tried changing the settings, tried it on desktop, same problem. It also doesn't work with the external headset microphone. Anyone else having this problem?

just wait till the developers fix that
and also make sure to write them via email because steam discussions are now flooded with game invites

After several failed attempts, I seem to have been able to temporarily resolve the issue by using a virtual input device.

On desktop mode, search for the Pulse Audio app. Under input devices, unmute Filter Chain Source and enable it.

I'm also having this issue and I can't even use a hardwired USB microphone either.

I'm really glad to hear that it's not broken and that it's a software issue?

In my case Steam Deck config issue. Check that on desktop mode.
