Audio Bug?? HELP!!

My friends and I were playing and on several different occasions during our session, any one of us would not have any prox. chat and could not communicate with any of our other teammates unless using TTS. We didn't have the issue during our morning session at all, but 3 of the 6 of us experienced this during the second. Verifying game files seems to be a temporary fix, but none of us know how to trigger the bug. It seemingly happens at random; I was dead in a lobby with someone else and mid sentence, he stopped speaking and was never to be heard from again (for the rest of the game, of course).
Has anyone else experienced this, or is it specific to something that one of us is doing?
Any and all help would be appreciated!

First time playing and experienced this after I died. Restarting the game fixed it but it happened again.

convinced my friends to play it and all we all just wasted time and money because we couldn't hear each other and spent an hour trying to fix it but couldn't really ruined the experience

This is only happening with modded repo. Vanilla lobbies don't seem to have this issue. Devs in the last update said they can't help with bugs on a modded client. :(

I found a bug related to audio which completely silence the game audio. Found a workaround for it, seems to just turn off windows spatial sound and adjust the audio on the volume mixer afterward, might be helpful to some of you as well with the same bug.

Damn I was really hoping that this would work for me, but it didn't :/
I have around 77 minutes of "game time" on this game and not a single bit of it was actually me playing, just trying to fix the audio problems. At this point, I just give up and plan to demand a refund
