Moto Racer 15th Anniversary Review
I couldn't post a review cause the steam overlay isn't work with this collection running it on Windows x8.1 x64.

I'm a big fan of the Moto Racer series and its a shame I have to review this. I don't always write reviews but I'm going to do it on this one that is for sure. I didn't buy it for its full price I bought it on sale so I didn't feel to bad about it. Well however even the sale price of $1.64 is a bit much.

First off the issue with launching the game within Steam launches my Bomberman Collection and I believe this happens trying to launch the first two games. Well I'm not to sure how to edit the short cut so I just went to the folder where Moto Racer was installed and played it from there. Its playable but don't expect the Xbox 360 controller to work as good as others reviewing this game have mentioned.

All those reviewers have claimed is the games work with the Xbox 360 controller. The issue with using the controller is that there is no dead zoning so what ends up happening is the analog joystick isn't accurate and your wound up falling off your bike. It wouldn't have been so bad if you could use the d-pad but for some reason that wasn't implemented. So this made the game unplayable with the Xbox 360 controller. You might be able to use other controllers but I think they will work about the same. You could use a keyboard but who uses them for racing games....?

Also the first game claims to be the D3D edition which means direct x should work out of the box. Reviewers have also said "what do you expect its an old game of course your graphics card isn't going to work with these old games". Well if your going to release this collection on Steam I don't think anybody is going to be playing this on Windows 98 so that should have been fixed out of the box for this release. Plus you'd think with all the professional work in re-releasing games all of the bugs being mentioned would be fixed.

Now I couldn't play Moto Racer 2 for some reason I had the same issue with the GOG version but was able to troubleshoot the problem. At this point and time I can't even remember how to fix it and it might be playable but at this point and time all I get is a nice black screen with music in the back ground. Also if i'm not mistaken the D3D bug in Moto Racer 1 is present in this game as well. Come on guys if you were planning to release this collection did anybody do bug checks before releasing this pile of dog ****. These bugs should have been noticed before release.

I didn't test Moto Racer 3 and I don't think it really needed to be tested. I own it on GOG and if its like that it should work out of the box. Also this is the most frowned about version of Moto Racer in the series.

Then of course we have Moto Racer 15th Anniversary version which works fine but doesn't support widescreen resolutions which is hilarious considering the store page mentions the game plays in "HD". Essentially this is "ED" an enhanced defenition edition of a new Moto Racer game. The menu looks ugly and the game is just horrible looking and its funny that you can select your graphics settings before launching the game. I wonder how bad the game looks in low quality cause at fantasic it looks like a heaping pile of ****.

Being a newer version of Moto Racer I do feel the developers have tried to accomplish make it feel like the other games in the series and improving over the Moto Racer 3. Of course I complained about the visuals but what annoys me about that is that I realize the older games have dated graphics but Moto Racer 3 actually looked a tad better then this game. But considering this game was released in 2011 you'd think it would have more colorful graphics at least.

They have of course added a new feature to the boosting which is hilarious but I guess adds to the strategy of the game. There is a boost meter in the game where if you use all your boost you'll have to wait until it fills again. But they have added another thing this time where if you use to much of your boost all at once you will fall off your bike. I find that a bit much. I'll just say this game is playable but feels really repetitive. Also note there is not multiplayer what so ever and the game is being developed by a new developer which I believe has nothing to do with Electronic Arts or Delphine Software International.

I have never done a bad review before and its sad I have to for a game series that i'm a big fan of. This game isn't playable by any means unless you can some how get the controller to work with Moto Racer 1 and some how get Direct X to work. If you can get Moto Racer 2 to work then your in for a bigger surprise. Moto Racer 3 is crap and Moto Racer 15th Anniversary edition might have some fun factor but damn the graphics are horrible just down right crap.
