find the R* Launcher location on your machine, login there, update the Launcher, then try again
Thanks for the reply! I actually did the same thing, because beforehand I had just installed it back whenever I had went to play GTA Enhanced, but just last night I tried to play, and it won't ever boot the launcher properly. Sometimes it will boot, but only to offline mode, and other times it won't boot at all. It's just like it's hung somewhere. I was researching sometimes when people have OneDrive installed or uninstalled it can cause issues, I don't have it installed. I'm going to install it, and see if that fixes it.
Thank you for the reply as well! Yeah, it's weird because I've been playing it since the day it launched, and then all of a sudden it wouldn't allow me to launch the Launcher last night. It was storming, so I thought maybe it had damaged some connection somewhere or somehow, but it also did it mid-day today. It's very well possible it could be that, or it could be an ISP issue. It could even be a problem with not having OneDrive installed, which I haven't tried that yet. I've seen people say it can have problems if it is installed, and problems if it isn't, so I'm going to give it a shot.
In the past for legacy - other background programs could also cause the R* launcher to take a long time and give that error - like razer software, rgb software, etc. Used to have people open msconfig, and just disable all non-ms services/startups, and restart to eliminate many potentials. Or just taskmanager and force close but eh.. diff ways to test things.
Av/security, controlled folder access, and other connectivity related issues could also cause this 'depending'. If anything - I'd go to my documents, and rename rockstar games to -old, just to wipe/remove all files/folders - and let it recreate them all in case there is an issues with anything there. I also wouldn't use cloud saves when it asks.
Did anything else on that system change? I mean.. you can get into admin/permissions, vcredists, firewall, connectivity/dns issues, and on and on it goes. Could also try powering modem/router off 5-10 minutes to get all that to reset as well in case of issues there (very common fix in legacy). There's many ways for R* launcher to have problems.
/goodluck - Things can be quite annoying when 'nothing changed' - and in reality we just didn't recognize it. It usually hits me when I install software that asks for a restart and i refuse (or it doesn't ask but really needed it)- only to do it days/weeks later and.. -boom- issues.
Hey man, thanks for the help! Yeah OneDrive shouldn't be the issue since it isn't installed. It all started one night when it was storming out a little bit, and I thought it was just the storms causing connectivity issues. I tried it the next day, but nothing changed. It will boot up the launcher, but it normally is in an infinite boot loop. If it does boot, I put my information in, and it signs me in, but to offline mode. I gave it the Windows Defender Folder exclusions, that didn't work. It could honestly be the Razer software running in the background. It never happened before, but I'll try disabling the Razer software, and if that doesn't work, I'll rename the folder, and then if that doesn't work, I genuinely don't know what is wrong lol. Thanks for the response and for the help! I'll try that when I get off of work!
