pc randomly shutting down
My pc specs are:
• Rtx4070 super
•Ryzen 9 5900x
•32gbs of ram
•500gb of nvme m.2 and 1tb of ssd

I can play GTA without any issues, but my PC randomly shuts down while playing. I’ve tried everything but haven’t found a solution. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem or has any advice?

check your gpu temps for some reason this game makes it run hot, if your gpu is shutting down its something to do with hardware affected by the game GL

99% of the time the issue with a shutdown is either heat or power related.

overheating from overclocking of ram/ cpu, poor cpu thermal paste.

psu issue, not enough watts from your psu powering your system.

power ventilation in your case causing overheating.

also possible bad ram and or incorrect ram timings.

good luck :)

if it's caused by a driver, bluescreenview might identify it

To clear up a few things:
gta is the only game that turns off my whole pc
i recently bought a 850w psu
i stress tested my cpu, gpu, ram for 10mins; wasn't any hardware issue as it ran fine.
i basically nerfed my pc by undervolting my gpu, it didnt work
ive done a swap file to the storage where gta is installed, didnt work
other things i did as well but it didn't work but one thing i havent tried is monitoring my temps but does gta really make it run that hot for it to overheat????

Of course checks temps. Your bios could be set to a shutdown if it reaches a certain level.

Latest gpu drivers? If so might want to revert.

All other intensive games work fine?

I believed reverting back to my old drivers has worked thanks for your help again!
i was having the same shutdown issue starting up cyberpunk, it ended up being an driver issue. use DDU to whipe out the driver and then install driver again or install the previous driver.

you need 1500w for that amd cpu itll burn your house down.
Yes, most likely the CPU is getting too hot and thus the PC shuts down to prevent damage.

Fix fan.
