LOL@Rockstar support
So I open yet another request on Rockstar (since they never responded on the others when I explained my situation a second time) to fix the issue of me not being able to get to the very old email that seems to be attached to my Rockstar games and affecting my ability to even play them, since I can't verify. I get a message back from them telling me that they understand I can't get to Rockstar social club and for me to do speedtest.net, etc. to check my connection. What in the actual you-know-what. Do they even read the requests that come in to them? I'm so over this company right now.

Combination of AI + outsourced support + very low error checking. They don't care. They really don't. And they haven't for a very long time. If you reply a few times you might make it past the AI or first level morons and get to someone who will actually read it. Maybe.

The key is don't let it go. Every support requests costs them (a small amount of) money. If you keep reopening the ticket, it's never closed out and it keeps costing them money, and their contractors don't get paid (or don't get as many bonuses) for unresolved tickets. The key thing is don't let it go because as far as their system is concerned, that ticket was "Closed/Resolved" because you never bothered saying you were still having trouble after their first reply.

Don't let them win.

Hi Mary,

SMS chat has a 5 minute interval and does not work in missions where I have a fixed amount of time to complete an objective, as new users often need more help than that. Please tell me how I can still communicate with newer players and help them if I need to speak to them twice in the 5 minutes I have to complete certain mission phases.

Regards,

Someone who is not a ****ing moron and not buying your bull****.

You know my reply was just as relevant as you posting your bs to this unrelated thread right? clueless

And just so we're clear, my reply was a suggestion to anyone who gets this obvious form-letter response from ****star in regards to a legitimate concern.

I guess I've learned from this to always use something like gmail instead of my ISP's email. Gmail shouldn't be going out of business anytime soon. Still a bummer. I guess the xbox versions will have to do. I am continuing to try though.

Never in a public lobby. Too many trolls / people with hot mics who have no idea they are being heard by everyone.

It takes a long time to get anything done with rockstar. I spent 2 months trying to change the email of an old account. I gave them everything they required and they still gave me the same copy and paste response. You always get a new agent every time they reply. I"m still locked out of GTA V and RDR2 because i don't have the receipt for GTA V when it was purchased 9 years ago. Good luck to getting your issue fixed

If you've got about 30 minutes to burn, and it's during their working hours, if you are logged in and go to support sooner or later at the bottom left of the page there will be a chat option. They can resolve whatever issue there and then.
I've had to go that route a couple of times over the years on the legacy version, it usually takes 20 to 30 minutes for someone to hop in.

You can set only friend on voice chat and can hear only your friend or crew or ceo.

I have the same issue, can't access the old email. Did not even realize that I have 2 Rockstar accounts. I was on the assumption I updated the email of first account to what now seems to be my second account, anyways...

Fun things they ask, how shall I know when the account was linked? This was literally years ago:

Before we proceed with updating your email, we need to verify your account ownership. Kindly provide the following details:

What was the full email address that was originally associated with the account?
What was the original nickname of the account?
When was the account linked to Steam? (mm-dd-yyyy)

I further requested to clean the entire account mess up, but they just point to unlinking the account. And the fun thing, because I replied in their support website:

When providing the information above, you must reply using the email associated with your Rockstar Games account and not through the Support site.

Why does it exist, then?
I think I'll never play GTA Enhanced ;)

In some cases you can look at your steam purchase history, and your steam achievements on the R* games to find the earliest ones (if those games needed social club account at the time). If the purchase date and achievement dates match - that's a good date to try for that question. Again, earliest... applicable game/social club dates.

If they don't match, and are off 2-3-4-7 days etc - that could be a purchase, but not linked, so any day in that range becomes valid unless you got the old R* emails or something on account creation.

And because this has been ongoing for years... and years...
.. and the copypasta on account recovery, forgotten/hacked accounts/deleted emails-
Fun times. Join the neverending flood of this nonsense. Much info - click and read -

tl;dr/lazy - use this link below to contact R* without logging in to RECOVER the already linked social club account/fix/change email to one you have access to. Many hoops to jump to prove you're the owner, have steam account, cdkey etc, and roll the dice on help-

/goodluck - for some it is a couple hours, others days/weeks, multiple tries.

At the time of this post - tickets have been push back to under 48 hours from 24. Also not seeing livechat appear in certain locations on the support site (you need to be logged in to see them too).

edit - and... just because it's R*. Keep your tickets.. simple. "Hello, I do not have access to my old email address. It was deactivated. I need to change my social club account email to a new one. Help me please. - insert steamid, cd key, screenshots, new email, etc - "

Don't give them 1-2 paragraphs of worthless infomration. Whatever they are using to process the tickets may totally spaz out. I also wouldn't use the world 'unlink'. They have a separate function to 'unlink' and that can also confuse if you are simply trying to change an email and RECOVER ACCESS to your old social club account.
