you can press the HOME key and access social club, but from there pretty much all you can do is quit.
suspend the GTA .exe in windows resource monitor for 7ish seconds then resume it. tab back into the game and you will load into that stuck session by yourself. from there you can try again to join a new one.
They probably make certain parts of the game easier, like a better HUD map, but I avoid them. Played World of Warcraft for over a decade. It's a hassle updating the game and waiting for the mod devs to update. Became so dependent on mods I finally quit.
That's what I'm trying to reach. Unfortunately, when the game first begins it loads to the public session.
I'm seeing that now. Usually press ALT+F4 and then click accept to leave. A few times the Rockstar application forced me to use the task manager.
What Quitter Does:
About this mod.
Quitter is a small hotkey-based application that allows to create Solo Public Session in GTA Online on demand by suspending the process. It can also kill the game or network connection to prevent unwanted transactions if the situation demands.
How did you manage that? Whenever I enter Story mode and use the menu to connect online it only has a single option to join Public. Nothing else. Forced to wait until I enter public and then Closed Friend or Invite Only. Are you playing the Legacy version?
Enhanced version
Escape Menu-->Online-->Play GTA Online-->Invite Only Session
I think you need to join a public session or Story before you can select invite only
Landing Page - Online or Story
Landing Page - Online - Join Session - Escape Menu-->Online-->Play GTA Online-->Invite Only Session
Landing Page - Story - Escape Menu-->Online-->Play GTA Online-->Invite Only Session
Previously you could load straight into Story mode, then select Escape Menu-->Online-->Play GTA Online-->Invite Only Session
both version can do the same mate
Only a single selection for Online was available before your Esc menu suggestion. Here is a screenshot of the menu before now.

Maybe because I was using the controller to access Online. Now the session type is available. Thank you.
