Self Radio FLAC support.
99% of my music library is in FLAC format, the only tracks I have that are MP3 are stragglers that were never made available in a lossless format.

Can we get FLAC support for the radio so that we can enjoy our lossless music and I don't have to listen to the same 20 odd music files? It's not worth converting my entire library to MP3 and have it take up more storage space just to get them to play in GTA V.

Yeah, the game was released in 2015 on PC when lossless audio wasn't as big of a deal

just because you were a kid back in 2015 and didn't know ♥♥♥♥ doesn't mean it wasn't a thing. FLAC is like, 25 years old

Seems .wav or wma lossless can work, but get in mind it can made problem with texture loading when you use big audio file, even mp3 320 kbps
If you have a result, let us know.

Edit: you probably lose metadata when using .wav

selfradio is one of the fancy ways to cause stutters because it was so well implemented
you better run you music on another device or with another tool on your pc, which might cause the same issue
I just use VLC and alt tab lmfao. Literally no issue with fps, or anything.

Not ideal if you're trying to hear in-game dialog having to alt tab out every few minutes to turn the music down and up again.

Both of these statements are comptaible. FLAC is old, but has only come into mainstream prominence recently with "lossless" (although it's not really lossless, but whatever!) streaming platforms such as Tidal.

All my homies use WavPack.

Standard lossless audio has been available to download for over 15 years AFAIK, that's how long I recall seeing it available for anyway so it may be even longer. Tidal is Hi-Res audio, meaning it is closer to studio quality (24-bit, 48Khz+) than standard retail CD audio which is 16-bit at 44.1Khz.

With all of that said, FLAC music with Hi-Res bit depths and sample rates can still playback using the same decoder used for standard lossless FLAC files.

WAV files are a no go, My music library is 150GB, converting them from FLAC to WAV would increase the size to about 200GB+. Also I spent weeks cleaning up and organising the library by correcting all of the metadata and embedding the correct cover art, converting to WAV would throw all of that away.

The library used to be WMA Lossless back before Windows 10 arrived and Windows Media Player supported FLAC. Once FLAC support happened I converted to it as WMA Lossless is not without it's support issues.

Also like WAV files, having separate music files hanging around in MP3 format is a waste of space that I'm not willing to put up with.
