Any Way to stop the Black Loading screen soft lock?
As the title indicates, I'm looking into any preventive measures I can take to stop the infinite black loading screen of suffering. It's becoming a thorn in my side as I've just started to enjoy this game again. That seasonal itch got me.

What I do is open up "Resource Monitor", find GTAV.exe, highlight it and click on "Suspend" Wait for about 5 seconds, then click on "Resume." This also works when it's taking a long time to initially load you into a session when you first load into the game. BUT, it will put you into a session by yourself.

For the never-ending loading screens usually all you can do is cut your connection to the session to get yourself kicked to a solo lobby. Easily done by suspending GTA's .exe for 5 seconds in the Task Manager's Resource Monitor.

I'm not getting the "Infinite" loading all that often however there is a high incidence of very long wait times for entering properties in the Online. Not sure why it's happening so much more often than on Legacy. Too many players with McDonalds wifi and/or potato PC's ending up as the session hosts or something.
Perhaps I am not quite comprehending the situation...

are you playing online?? if so, and youre still not experiencing what we're talking about, then you've just been getting lucky with the sessions you're ending up in.

When you get into a session with a decent host there is typically no issues.
yeah tbh the only real preventative measure would be to play in Invite Only sessions. Then you'll never have that problem.

I can usually shorten black screens using resource monitor. Right click on GTA in resource monitor and select "suspend process", count to 10, right click and resume process. This should hopefully shorten the black screens and this trick is also clears public lobbies if you dont feel like dealing with people.

its because of other players in online, Brother Thomas has the correct answer, it basically allows you to disconnect from the other players without stopping what you are doing.
Open the social club, change your Crew, this will throw you into a different lobby and depending on the host maybe stop another softlock.

Second post to address the question.
If you enter into a lobby, or maybe are in the lobby and try entering a building, the game sends a signal to initialize a change in setting, loading for you another area of the game like the inside of a warehouse. Your PC has the info for the load, it just needs to be told by host to initialize the loading.... but the host PC does not send the signal to initialize loading of the script for that interior because their PC or connection is crap and has literally lost your player's location.
Sometimes your location is inside and outside, so players already inside the interior will see your icon as being inside the location while someone outside at same time might see you blinking standing offside of the entrance to the location. That person is in softlock or is being refused access because you cannot be in two places at once. So just like the black screen softlock, the end user's PC is not receiving the initialize interior signal to start the loading.

That is why I have my social club assigned to HOME, press home, social, my crews, pick a different crew and game moves me to a new host.

What i do is bring up the task manager and find the process named Rockstar games and usually shows with a 5 or 7 in my case, and close only that. then it will take you back to the main loading screen. I seen someone else reply to suspend the exe process but im not a fan of restarting on my own in an empty lobby

When this happens to me i use an application called Quitter.

Quitter is a small hotkey-based application that allows to create Solo Public Session in GTA Online on demand by suspending the process. It can also kill the game or network connection to prevent unwanted transactions if the situation demands
