stolen account

My account was stolen by a random email that I've never even seen [e-mail], I just sent a ticket to see if it solves my problem, does anyone have any tips? Every time I open the game it asks me to confirm with this email so I can enter the game...

contact rockstar support. They had helped me recover my stolen account as well, back when I had an email breach, make sure to use 2fa on your email and change your passwords. Give them as much info and they'll get your account quick. Even better if you still got access to the original email that was used on the account. Once it's all set and you get it, I recommend getting 2FA for your rockstar account + changing to another email.

Thing is, if they get access to your account, not sure how it goes but in essence they could contact support to remove the steam account or manually do it (I'm not sure whether it needs steam confirmation in anyway to remove/unlink it)

Bottom line is, get 2FA for your rockstar accounts, use Google Authentificator, you can have lots of game accounts, emails, all in the google auth app, no lowlifes will ever get to your accounts that way.

Yep, you need to be able to provide info to get that 'unlinked' - fail to provide the proper info or answers and the ticket gets nuked. And, you be sure to actually read everything they say when going through that process. In the past - doing this - you couldn't play at all. If you have substantial progress in gtao - recover the account instead.


As for the op and tips - do not mention unlink. You want to recover your social club account, by having R* change the email to one you can access. If they ask about the date you linked your steam and R*, you can possibly use earliest achievements on the R* games on steam to help compare with purchase date to hit the exact date, or narrow down to a smaller timeframe. And lastly, depending 'when' your account was hacked - you may have even gotten an email from R*, that you can use to recover access to your account without a ticket (if the link hasn't expired... and if 'that' email hasn't been used on a new social club account - more info in the links).
