I installed FXSOUND from the windows store, and it actually does what its supposed to do, which is boost sound.
That seems like a good test since both are uncompressed PCM.
If console was set to Dolby or DTS, it would have been louder because it's compressed.
It's one more reason to be glad they kept the legacy version as a separate game.
Same here, normal version worked fine,, Enhanced: sound is way too low
Download FXsounD from the Windows store and configure it and leave it open.
Then start the game and minimize it and open the sound settings "sound mixer" and change the GTA V output device to FXsound Spekears and the game will have perfect sound.
For me, there is very little difference in volume or loudness.
However, the sound separation between the channels is way better in Legacy game.
With Enhanced, many sounds bleed into all channels where Legacy has complete sound separation.
So Enhanced has better graphics but Legacy has better sound.
I wonder what went wrong though? Legacy had more sound options like TV or Surround, also you could pick speaker distance for front, rear etc...
With Enhanced missing the audio settings, you would think that it just uses whatever you have set in windows but that doesn't check out.
It's clearly not true surround sound, I don't know if the sound separation is even true stereo. It seems to be a mix of stereo and mono sounds.
To get started, please follow these steps:
1. Open the NV App via Win.
2. Download the NV Broadcaster via the NV App.
3. Install and reboot the system.
4. Open the Windows Sound Mixer (this is where you can find all volume settings from Windows apps, etc.).
5. Start up the game via Steam.
6. Wait until the game appears in the Sound Mixer.
7. Click on the arrow (!) beside the volume slider (this will open a menu).
8. Select 'For Out' -> 'Speakers/NV Broadcaster'; select 'For In' -> 'Microphone/NV Broadcaster'.
9. You're all set, enjoy!
This method has been proven effective through practical application.
Firstly i do not have audio probelms.
I have dolby access installed and got the green light in the app and says: "ready to use". I setup dolby atmos in windows audio and it works i can hear the difference... but the game does not show me the option. I am now uncertain if the game is properly setup for dolby audio or not?!?
Even if that works, should we accept the audio downgrade of surround with Legacy to stereo with Enhanced?
It's not Enhanced in that case.
