Mandatory anticheat malware install just to play the offline campaign?
Nah. AAA gaming can't crash quick enough. What a waste of a download.

You can also cancel the batlteye install. Install/open the R* launcher manually, log in. Go to settings and uncheck battleye and it shouldn't ask again. You can also use -nobattleye in the launch options, or commandline.txt . And finally, you can run 'gta5_enhanced_be.exe 4' in a command prompt at the game folder to uninstall it (if installed). All this works for legacy too (just adjust the gta5 be.exe).

Just a shame they didn't weren't clearer about it from the start.

Thanks, I'll try this.

Cheaters are killing multiplayer gaming.

Take your pick.

I really hate cheaters, and im not talking about messing around in singleplayer. If your using cheats to get advantage over others in online play, you have very weak self esteem and should reevaluate why cheating at a game gives you such joy.

If anti cheat were invasive enough, steam has all sorts of crazy permissions over computer, with built in streaming. I would use a computer for just gaming.

Putting -nobattleye in the launch options box did the trick, thanks. I wish it was more clear on how to disable it, but at least you can.

I agree that cheaters ruin online gaming for everyone. I still dislike kernel level anti-cheat on principle, and my issue here is that it was insisting on running this anti-cheat when I have no plans to ever play online.
