Buying GTA+ on Steam for non-Steam game
Is it possible that if I buy GTA+ subscription for my GTA Enhanced (that was NOT bought on Steam), will my game recognize it and get benefits from it?

I just can't buy from R*'s site and in game itself, because I can't use a card. Only on Steam you can buy with direct transfer.

Do i need to add the game to the list of "non-Steam games" to make it work?

I not think is possible but wait other who maybe know more than me :)
Well, it seems it doesn't work. I only got added 6 Rockstar games to my Steam library (which my Rockstar launcher can't even see). My game does not even recognize I have installed GTA+.

This just makes Steam version superior at this point, as buying GTA+ here is like a thousand times easier.

I'm in a somewhat similar situation

Somewhere between Rockstar and these XSolla guys, Rockstar warehouse's paygate is a terrible mess at the moment; and I have four perfectly valid and often-used credit cards, and none worked, meanwhile the "order history" now suggests pending orders stuck there for up to 72 hours (and counting) now, while I know from my banks already such requests never reached them, they simply don't exist; neither R* nor Xsolla support seems to be willing to deal with this.

I thought about trying the steam approach myself, but am a bit afraid - noobish as I am in these matters - that this will somehow mess up my RGL version that currently runs exceptionally well.
I would like to enquire how you went about your "experiment". So, you added your retail, non-steam GTA V-E to the steam library, then bought the GTA+ subscription, and nothing happened, the two items simply wouldn't connect?
Have you been prompted at some point, somewhere, to at least enter your gaming account credentials, or are we to conclude then that this is supposed to be done by Steam platform automatically (at least had a steam-purchased version be involved).

Have you contacted Steam Support about this, what are they saying?

Personally, I'll erstwhile wait a couple of days if the situation improves on R's warehouse end. They must realize that even excluding PayPal from their subscription paygate is a gross mistake - especially since in general the shop does accept this payment method, otherwise.

Rockstar's record on acknowledging errors is quite ambiguous, but by the end of the day they are currently losing money opportunities over this, they are bound to notice something, sooner or later. Luckily, I'm not desperate for the subscription, just thought it a nice idea because of the extra garage and bonus paments and stuff; but if R* does want my money, it's their problem, really, not mine and that's what I told them, too. At which point they just closed the ticket, lol. They're over their heads here, and it's only Week One of a product rollout, lol

Good luck, out there!

I prefer not risking that much. I just simply bought this GTA from Steam, and online works. It wasn't expensive...

Understandable; in turn, I've read too many complaints in forums about launching issues via Steam, so that's where I'm still feeling a bit 'fraidy. Might reconsider, for I agree that re-buying the thing on Steam is simplest solution. But I give things another week. People at Xsolla contacted me back, after all, maybe they have something to contribute.

Happy gaming

You can't ACTUALLY "add" non-steam games to your library. You can only basically create whats esssentially just an integrated shortcut icon, so you can click to launch the game without minimizing the steam window. It's nothing more than an organizational option.

Ah, that's settled then, thank you for clearing that up!

See, I've only cursorily glanced at various forum entries, and in my optimism misinterpreted some remarks then.

I tried that and it didn't even work. Couldn't even open the game. Buying the Steam version was the only way.

Did you link your steam account to your rockstar account?
Side note: Not related to OP's primary question but concerning an underlying issue mentioned earlier:

For those struggling with R*'s store not communicating correctly with European credit cards, I finally managed to pull through from the in-game store with my most recent card and using my bank's verification app.

With several banks, it is important to use a card compliant with certain new transaction protocols that were laid out 2016, but only fully implemented from 2022 onwards.
So depending on your bank, you might need to use a credit card issued post 2022/23 and activated/registered with a so-called 3DS2 verification method (that would be an app provided by your card-issuing bank).

This is not an official R* Support information, since their support tiers indeed have been friendly but rather clueless in the handling of my problem and eventually just closed the ticket on me; but this is what eventually had me pull through with my payment, so I pass the info on, in case someone with my problem mentioned earlier, stumbles over this.
