Stuttering constantly. Like Gsync isn't enabling
Never had this issue with the legacy version, but I'm getting constant stuttering above 60fps and to a less extent when locked at 60. I have a 5600 and an Rtx 4070 12gbvram so should be able to play this no issues, but It's stuttering like mad regardless of settings. Have locked the frame rate with nvidia control panel, RTSS and Special K but its not making any difference. I've also tried a few other fixes on here like disabling inactive audio devices, disabling DLSS etc but nothing is working. Even on lowest settings at the lowest resolution it still stutters. GTA5 Enhanced is the only game that is exhibiting this behaviour on my machine. Special K shows the frame time graph absolutely all over the place at all times too.

The game is eating CPU's for breakfast that is the problem. Well at least in my case.

I have a R9 5950x, RTX 5090, 32 GB 3600 CL14 RAM, Samsung 2 TB 990 Pro NVMe. And the game is also stuttering, because I am CPU limited. I will replace the 5950x with a 9950x3d at some point.

Activating "Frame Smoothing" that is basicly Framegen in the Nvidia App, reduces it a bit. The game is playable and also a bit enjoyable, but I can't fully enjoy it before I replaced my CPU, MB and RAM.

Same issue here
Same problem with my R5 3600X (+ RTX 3060ti).

Stuttering is really noticeable while driving. (No RT enabled)

It's a pretty old CPU now, but it used to work like a charm on GTA 5 Legacy

Same. As you said, limiting to 60 fps mitigates it somewhat, but not completely. I think the stutters coincide with loading in objects, textures etc. Maybe something wrong with this new Direct Storage thing?
yeah same thing here... =/
Strangely enough, when I first ran it yesterday, it was legitimately smooth as silk. Then today I got the patch and upgraded the driver to 572.70 and I started seeing the stutters. Rolled back to 572.60 (DDU first, of course) and the stuttering persists, so I'm guessing it has to do with whatever the patch did, at least in my case.

Must be a cpu thing cause 11900k and 3090ti are running the game a steady locked 4k 120 fps with everything set to max except for ray traced shadows which is off.

First time I ran the game it was smooth until just after the first Franklin mission, then it started stuttering constantly after that. It needs a patch.

I'm on the second repo mission and so far running great and this is with the new driver. I wonder do you have reflex+boost enabled? If so turn it off and see how it does.
There is a new NVidia driver that specifically mentions GTAV Enhanced.

We already tried that.
hear me out, I had the same problem with stutter and generally not being able to play the f'ing game. Just ALT TAB it, and change your audio output, if you're on headphones just switch to speakers or turn on windows spatial sound on/off.

just try it, its not like you have anything to lose at this point.

edit: 3d audio or dolby or whatever bullshittery they added messes it up.

Works perfectly on my 4080 super. Looks beautiful.

Amazingly enough, this seems to have done it for me. Disabled Windows Sonic/Dolby Atmos on all devices (I had it on for both my speakers and my headphones) and the stutters are gone. Thanks for the tip, man.
I don't know if we're talking about the same kind of stutters.
For me it's not like lag spikes.
But it just feels unpolished.
I know how f.ex. 160 fps feel like in other games.
But in this Gta version it just doesn't feel smooth.
Capping the FPS to 120 again feels like yesterday, which was better.
Updating to the latest Nvidia driver did not improve performance btw.
Maybe it's because the game only uses around 50% gpu most of the time.
I hope this will be fixed very soon.
Compared to this the Legacy version felt smooth like butter.
U9 285k and 5080 btw
