transfering from rockstar games launcher

if i buy gta v on steam, while i have it on rockstar, can i just transfer somehow the files to steam, so that i dont need to download it again? if so, how can i do it

md5/checksum on legacy files vs enhanced = 'maybe' 1.5gb matched. No point in trying to use legacy to cut down on enhanced download/bandwidth at that point.

If you've already have the enhanced version on R*, well that is an entirely different story and the bulk will surely transfer near completely into a steam or egs install.

Generally though, you can start the download on steam, pause it, close steam, and copy the files over into the steam/steamapps/downloading/ 'steamid of game folder' - restart steam and continue.

Or, (the method I prefer) you can close steam, copy over the appropriate appmanifest_3240220.acf file into steam / steamapps, or steamlibrary / steamapps if the game is in a library. Then, you go to the same steam or steamlibrary / steamapps / common and make a folder called 'grand theft auto v enhanced' - and copy all your game files/folders into that. Restart steam. Verify game files, and it should 'fix' any differences.
