Are you playing fresh on Enhanced?
I haven't read the migration instructions but if it's not too late, can you install Legacy, start a Online Character and get the Criminal DLC credited then migrate it to Enhanced?
While it's on sale I want to get a friend it, but if there is issues getting the DLC it makes starting a new character is a pain if you just want to get in to coop missions.
After logging into Online, Isn't Esc > Online > Swap Character working for you?
You're banks are shared but other than that, you should be able to start new and delete characters whenever you want.
My character is a Xbox 360 character which you can't make anymore and looks completely unique to current online characters.
No when i go to online then i go straight to character creator. I make my character. Then it tries to join a lobby. I get "Recent transaction not completed". It boots me back to character select. If i pick the character i just created and try to join online it says "You have to completele the character creator first before joining online". It boots me back into the character select. Then i cant either pick the character or overwrite it creating a new.
No matter what i cant even get into a session cause the game doesnt let me create my first character.
I send Rockstar a ticket but i dont expect a response this month.
So you can't even get to the migration options :S
You wasn't banned on Legacy right? I saw on the support page people getting similar errors.
No i wasnt, Legacy still works just fine for me.
The thread of side tracking a little, but reading online players are saying they fixed the error you have is by forcing a profile save update, such as buying items in Legacy Online such as a car/house or lots of items then give it a day and try logging in again.
Not using a VPN right? xD
I just bought gta, if i just download the enhanced version, am i gonna get something the first time i made online account?
You're choices are, start a new character on Enhanced Edition and be forced to spend the money on one of the careers. (It forces you to spend $3mil, leaving you with a $1mil) but you can earn a few mill from missions easier.
Or download and install Legacy and start a character and play, you must claim the cars from the stores in-game. The Cash could take a hour or two or sometimes a few days.

Then after claiming every thing, migrate your character over to Enhanced Edition. $1mil will be enough to buy one of the CEO/Gang careers.
I would take option 2 personally. As it gives you a Apartment with a Heist Room.
If you already start a character on Enhanced Edition, you can still create a Legacy character and Migrate it as you have 2 character slots. Only the money in the Bank is shared, everything else is character specific.
Really sucks for new players to have to dl both versions one after another. Also, wasn't there a restriction that new characters that aren't at least 30 days old can't migrate to the Enhanced version? Or did R★ did away with that crappy requirement?
