Horrible instructions
ok so Rockstar said you can import your old save from legacy to the enhanced edition BUT they failed to give any instructions on how to do it...

BASICALLY you have to have BOTH legacy AND enhanced installed, THEN upload the save game from legacy, THEN download it from the enhanced version...so, you have to have a minimum of 220 GB reserved to just download your saved game so you can play it on the enhanced version...

I manually copied the files which took seconds and skipped it all.
Yes, the instructions were largely terrible and... they probably did it that way for.. reasons.
what files?

"I manually moved mine instead. Screw their cloudsave stuff.
sgta files from-
my docs / rockstar games / gtav / profiles / profilename
to
my docs / rockstar games / gtav enhanced / profiles / profilename

Has me wondering if controlled folder access in windows is messing with things since this is technically a new .exe/etc - and people could be forgetting about adding whitelist that. Too lazy to mess with it right now though -.-

Some others said they had to try multiple times but again, lazy, not testing it.
edit - yes this could vary if you use onedrive - /barf"

as mentioned by me in your post, doing so ruined the game's performance for me. game looks and runs worse on the same graphics settings i had before. but atleast i can play on my save now ig. rockstar gotta drop an update anyway, they can't just leave the rest of us that still didn't manage to migrate their online accounts like this.

edit: also still, pretty stupid that you need to have both games installed to migrate... i wasn't told by anyone that you had to do this and just waited for the game to be playable. i uninstalled legacy the moment enhanced released.

The save file did absolutely nothing to my graphics here. It doesn't do anything to the graphics. The settings.xml in my docs / rockstar games / gtav enhanced is responsible for that unless your save file had possible corruption or other issues.

As for legacy being necessary, not according to R*'s links - which are in the link I posted. This also wouldn't be the first time they spat out lackluster instructions and details - half betting an intern had AI spit it out.

well i didnt know about how to do it...i thought it was going to be seamless...so i uninstalled Legacy, and low and behold i had to reinstall that ♥♥♥♥ again...fml
I uploaded my save game to Rockstar's servers from Legacy then uninstalled Legacy, installed Enhanced and Rockstar Social detected my save game, I migrated my save game. It's that easy.
Wow that's stupid. Why did they do it that way?

I got the impression that Rockstar's instructions assume you want to use cloud save for story mode, and that you don't already have it enabled - you'd have to enable it in GTA V Legacy in order to upload it so you can import it to Enhanced.

If you already had cloud save enabled, or you just want to transfer your local save, then most of those instructions are unnecessary.

And of course, for GTA Online, you've always been forced to use cloud saves, so those would transfer the same for everyone.

Oh, in that case, look in Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\profiles\. If there are files in there that look like SGTA50000, SGTA50001, ... (possibly inside another folder with your Steam ID as its name), then those are your local saves. You can just copy the profiles folder over to Documents\Rockstar Games\GTAV Enhanced\. (That folder will be created when you launch Enhanced for the first time, if you haven't already.)
