Text chat?

Text chat seems to be non-existent, usually i cant vc later in the evening cause i'd prefer not to annoy those around me, that being said, i mostly use text chat later at night, the 60 character phone text message with an abnormally long cooldown doesn't really resolve this issue either, and is quite tedious to use over and over.

Hope rockstar fixes this.

Further edited: I got the information i needed, some of you guys really need an actual therapist and not the steam forums to vent. It looks like they removed the text chat, which I think is complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥... I hope they bring it back soon, otherwise, I’ll have no choice but to go back to the other version.

i really did use it for a lot of real in game purposes and im kinda bummed. i hope they do plan to bring it back. i just use steam messages for now

You would have to make a new character as you cant transfer your old progress back

They removed it I checked the settings for keybinds and it's not there only things for voice chat

I can't think of any reason to remove the feature other than to help people's feelings

Also also modders posting links but you can also filter words easily not that's not a excuse its also stupid how swearing had been censored since the feature was born

This is not new, Rockstar is a British company yes? Other british Game studios have done the same (CA, for example) Remove the Text chat option. From what I know this is because of certain British laws in place, however I do not know the details. But do know some kind of Bill passed that made british game companies to remove any text chat, due to.. reasons.

False rockstar is an american company with facilities in the UK, Just want to correct this real quick. I dont think thats the case here.

They have specifically made it a point to enable or disable the text chat in an earlier update.
There are still key binding conflicts.
This is a console port which doesn't have text chat.
There is no mention of this in the patch notes, and there are still notes showing notifications you get about the enable/disable.
Another post on here yesterday got a support response saying text chat is not supported at launch

I'm guessing that they forgot, and will patch it back in soon.
