To play both yes.
To play Enhanced, no.

They are separate games...

Install Legacy to play Legacy,

Install Enhanced to play Enhanced.

...it's pretty simple.

No, however legacy and enhanced do not use the same servers online so know which version your friends play when going online.

Tip:
Before you uninstall Legacy, make sure you have cloud saves activated in Rockstar Games Launcher and use the in-game transfer option to migrate your single player save game.
That will also transfer all single-player Steam achievements.

Online character and achievements automatically transfer when you migrate your character.

i thought they were the same, is the enhanced version different then legacy? like missing some content?

enhanced has animals in online and hsw cars, legacy does not
