this is what chatgpt says:
First, check event viewer (Windows Logs > System) for any critical errors right after a freeze. Could be a GPU driver timeout (TDR). Try rolling back or updating your AMD drivers—sometimes the latest isn't the greatest with GTA.
Also, since you're running games off a separate SSD, make sure that drive isn't having hiccups. Run a check with chkdsk /f in Command Prompt just to rule out file system issues.
You could also try disabling hardware acceleration in Discord and see if that changes anything. GTA V is notoriously finicky with overlays and external processes.
EDIT: and event viewer only shows critical kernel which is me havign too force reboot, so im not seeing anything GPU related. Drivers are updated to most recent, but the old one i had said it wasn't higher enough for GTA
I actually did find my solution, but im not sure if it will work for you or anyone else but ill share. I recently discovered that the most recent Graphics card driver was the issue, so i went back to an older version. if your curious, and are using AMD Software adrenaline, im using the current version of "24.12.1" and since then i haven't had any issues. I should have updated the post but im sure its lost in the forums by now. Not sure if they fixed this issue in the most recent releases. but im not gonna find out until i KNOW i need too update.
