No suprise here, but key bindings are FUBAR in the Enhanced version!!
I try to rebind something to T and it says that's bound to Team Chat. Well, Team Chat isn't anywhere to be found in the rebinds, which means I can't rebind anything to Y which means I can't rebind other keys to how I want.

Why do developers not ever test their rebinds before releasing their games? They can pay me very little and I'll test their damned games for them!! Gee whiz!!

functional who
T and Y are text chat keys - they've removed text chat.

Some tickets responses to R* have them saying that text chat woin't be supported at launch. It could be they are working on.. some kind of moderation for it before putting it back. Who knows.

edit - Yes, copying the old keybinds works. Not much has changed in relation to many aspects of the game and the user files.

I had to copy my controls xml file from the legacy version to the enhanced version. It appears to be working so far.

This company has proven time and time again they don't give a sh*t about quality control. Not being able to make a simple keybinds menu in 2025 is such a joke. Can't wait to see how they screw it up again in 2032 when GTA VI comes out on PC.

i was able to fix this by binding to what i want but leaving T and Y alone. i rebound reload, which i want on the T key, to I. i was then able to edit my user.xml file and change the reload setting from KEY_I to KEY_T, relaunched the game and it's fine. However if i go into the controls menu for any reason, it shows the warning that duplicate keys are bound and won't let me save changes. Can someone with a legacy xml file share the command for "text chat all" or whatever gets bound to the T key by default so i can manually fix it? i'd rather not have to fully install the legacy version just to change the settings and save the config file.

i assume it would look something like this:

INPUT_[SOME_COMMAND_HERE] <-- Need this command IOMS_KEYBOARD <Parameters>
KEY_P
<-- Or whatever you rebound text chat to </Parameters>

edit: It would only be in the file if it's not set to default

INPUT_MP_TEXT_CHAT_ALL
IOMS_KEYBOARD
<Parameters>

KEY_U

</Parameters>

This is what I have after rebinding my keys.
My client shows the key bindings, but they don't do anything. Will the XML trick work?
they did remove pageup as well though at the kosatka heist

They really didn't put much effort in porting this 3 year old update for PC.
They were slack on everything but the GTA+ features.
At it’s core it is a console port, there’s no text chat on console, and you are limited to the buttons on a controller, so there was no need to test remapping a keybind for a removed feature.

Not removed, unimplemented. As you say it's in essence a console port, they just copied PC keybinds (which include two keys for chat) and called it a day. There's a line in Updates.cfl file: "Textchat wasn't yet added to online on the gen9", with a commentary,, that it will come soon, so they are working on it. Gen 9 also means clearly ninth generation of consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), that hints to a console port clearly.
I had a similar problem with my key bindings too. I'm left handed so I move all my games' movement keys from WASD over 2 spaces to RDFG. It's just more comfortable for me and gives me more room. This, of course, means I have to remap numerous other keys. The fix I found on Reddit was to just copy the folder "control" and specifically the file "user.XML" in that folder from your old GTA Online profile:

C:\Users\*user*\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\Profiles\*profile#*\
to the new Enhanced edition folder:
C:\Users\*user*\Documents\Rockstar Games\GTAV Enhanced\Profiles\*profile#*\

Then all you have to do is adjust whatever key bindings the Enhanced version won't allow when you relaunch the game afterward.

Playing with an xbox controller is screwed. Buttons does more than one thing simultaniously. When i run it also starts recording a gameclip. What in the actual horsecrap is this ?
