Meaning that anyone who isn't in the specs of the new requirements would've gotten jipped if it were simply added in as a update.
Could've enabled a beta opt-in to play the non-enhanced version.
Stop supporting rockstar, every marketing decision they make takes money and mechanics out of people pockets to boost their revenue, they waited 10 years to add an anti cheat system despite having tons of money, so stop defending them, they do not care if a hacker ruins your game or steals your in game money as long as you have give them your real life money
Theyre a piece of ♥♥♥♥ company and people need to stop supporting them
Their morals closely relate to those of the boeing CEO, the only difference is they arent effecting peoples safety, just their wallets.
The share holders and CEO will do whatever they can to make your experience diminished while their pockets inflate
While I agree with what you're saying and makes complete sense. They did this to Linux / Steam Deck players so it really wouldn't surprise me if they did just pull the trigger.
We have double entry on our Steam library for pretty much any remaster. Skyrim, Bioshock, Mafia 2, Darksiders, etc...
That's nothing new.
This version of GTA V is vastly different when it comes to hardware requirements and functionality.
1. This isn't a remaster. It's a minor graphical upgrade
2. Those you list are sp, this is mp. If it was SP it wouldn't divide the playerbase.
Other studios done similar stuff, like the ray tracing update in RE2 and RE3 and it was met with tremendous backslash because a lot of people couldn't play anymore. So much so, Capcom had to revert that and make the old version available via a beta branch.
This is a different case, of course. But there was no way to make this update without splitting the community.
They made the perfect decision. Leave the original 2015 alone so people with low and hardware wouldn't get affected and provide the ray tracing version we've been asking for years as a separated game.
This build is based on the PS5 version of the game, which requires SSD because PS5 works with that. This change alone will make a lot of people unable to play the game.
There was no other way. You can't simply update a game and change the minimum requirement this much.
