Why it's own game?
Why isn't this just an update to GTA V? Or at the very least, an additional launch option? Why make a completely "new" game? So we have unnecessary duplicates in the library, incorrect game time tracking etc?

And to make it even worse, I hear that you can't play GTA V online with people who are using the other version of GTA V? So it's even worse then, all this does really is divide the community, less players on each side. And all this trouble for what, slightly upgraded gfx?

Even if this is free this is just annoying and stupid.

New hardware requirements, SSD requirement.

Meaning that anyone who isn't in the specs of the new requirements would've gotten jipped if it were simply added in as a update.

No, they could've made it a launch option.

Could've enabled a beta opt-in to play the non-enhanced version.
Yeah. I hate it too.

True.
and now the community will be divided even more, this version isnt listed on the steam website, so most people wont find it without a provided link. MEaning most people will still probably play on the old version
Stop supporting rockstar, every marketing decision they make takes money and mechanics out of people pockets to boost their revenue, they waited 10 years to add an anti cheat system despite having tons of money, so stop defending them, they do not care if a hacker ruins your game or steals your in game money as long as you have give them your real life money

Theyre a piece of ♥♥♥♥ company and people need to stop supporting them

Their morals closely relate to those of the boeing CEO, the only difference is they arent effecting peoples safety, just their wallets.

The share holders and CEO will do whatever they can to make your experience diminished while their pockets inflate

While I agree with what you're saying and makes complete sense. They did this to Linux / Steam Deck players so it really wouldn't surprise me if they did just pull the trigger.
You're complaining about absolutely nothing.
We have double entry on our Steam library for pretty much any remaster. Skyrim, Bioshock, Mafia 2, Darksiders, etc...
That's nothing new.
This version of GTA V is vastly different when it comes to hardware requirements and functionality.

While those are often stupid an unnecessary, you're missing the point:
1. This isn't a remaster. It's a minor graphical upgrade
2. Those you list are sp, this is mp. If it was SP it wouldn't divide the playerbase.
There is probably some technical reason for it, and a combination of time and/or money to do it.

The new system requirements is almost a prank. Like okay, they added Ray Tracing but if you are not going to enable it nothing changes at all. And you have DLSS support as well which is a great FPS boost. 95 GB seperate game for a Reshade mod function is insane.

It's not even a remaster. Not even close to a remaster at all. How did you manage to call it a remaster?

You've just said they could have made a launch option. How would that change the player base issue? These are still separate software. The change in hardware requirement is substantial and if they made this an update, half of the people who bought the game previously and have a 10 years old PC, which are many, wouldn't be able to play the game at all.

Other studios done similar stuff, like the ray tracing update in RE2 and RE3 and it was met with tremendous backslash because a lot of people couldn't play anymore. So much so, Capcom had to revert that and make the old version available via a beta branch.

This is a different case, of course. But there was no way to make this update without splitting the community.

They made the perfect decision. Leave the original 2015 alone so people with low and hardware wouldn't get affected and provide the ray tracing version we've been asking for years as a separated game.

This build is based on the PS5 version of the game, which requires SSD because PS5 works with that. This change alone will make a lot of people unable to play the game.

There was no other way. You can't simply update a game and change the minimum requirement this much.

its seperated so people who have older computers can still play without the higher hardware demands

Like I said, they could've done it without a completely separate game. Many such cases.
