Enhanced runs on the same name conventions with the exception of gtaV.exe being GTAVenhanced.exe so OpenIV Cannot see it. All OpenIV does is does all the manual work in modding. If Scripthook V and .net gets an update and ASi Loader(s) for the latest version then you wouldn't need OPENIV you can just do it yourself. That's the real issue. Beyond that many mods will still work.
I think Rockstar is fine with SinglePlayer modding. Weren't Take Two Interactive being the actual hostile one? Also, OpenIV was continued to be active prior to around 2020, but since early-2022 is being actually truly dead now for like 3 years already.

OpenIV didn't actually cease development though IIRC, GTAV patches didn't really change anything with the base game and its archives, In fact most patches that added new vehicles or missions simply created new folders or RPF archives In the same game directory so no new updates were ever needed on OPENIV.

With this enhanced build, There's obviously some major changes now so OPENIV can't natively open the game files to allow modding, This is likely to trigger some updates to OpenIV in the coming weeks or months to add support for it.

This kind of thing isn't done immediately, It can take a long time to make sure the software works as intended and doesn't bug out whilst opening rpf archives and such, Hell for all we know, The developers could already be working on it and just haven't got far enough to post any updates on twitter or anywhere and they'll let us know when they finally have enhanced edition supported.

All I'm gonna say is give it time, It WILL happen, But not for the immediate future.
I managed to get OPENIV to work with the enhanced version by making a copy of the game exe and renaming it GTA5.exe then OPENIV did recognize it.

ASI loader and Cie still wont work BUT i can replace assets in OPENIV for now.

So i tried to replace a car, first thing "mods" folder is not supported.

Now i'm facing another issue, i replaced all the correct files but as soon as i launch the game it crashes instantly.

i'll backup and try another mod

editing any rpf file results in getting a file corrupted, weird.

i tried 3 separate vehicle mods anytime i edited the rpf file it made the game crash on startup, even when rolling back with a backup.
the only way to get back to normal is to repair files.

i have no clue how to workaround, my guess is that battleye is the culprit.

Nope, Rockstar changed something with the gamefiles hence why OpenIV isn't able to fully handle the files.

You just gotta be patient and wait for an update

Ain't that a MOD?
Yes, largely used for modding -storymode-. It shouldn't be a question anymore.

Yes and No, C'mon Kevin.. You have a guide on your profile for FiveM which is ALSO a mod,
FiveM in its earlier days often required files to be installed USING OpenIV such as LSPDFR.

OpenIV is a suite of modding tools to allow you to swap things such as textures, vehicles, addon pedestrian models, better weather, improved LOD's and more.

I wish Rockstar never packed their game. GTA IV you could literally edit most of the files that were not textures because they were stored in a simple folder

You can literally make every gang hate each other with a edit to the relationships. DAT file

why did Rockstar pack their files for GTAV? was it really only just to deter modders from tampering with the game files?

Not really, just think.. GTAV legacy is what.. 120GB?

And that's WITH compressed archives, With a lack of compression we could easily be talking 150GB+ in textures, models, audio, shaders and so on.
