They will not update it, OpenIV is dead. We have to wait for an alternative to come out, which will take a while.
Open IV is not dead. LSPDFR is still going nuts bro what you on about lmao
In the long run it's a good thing, but the key word here is "long".
OpenIV stopped development in 2016(2017) after a cease and desist was sent to the developers by RockStar.
Enhanced runs on the same name conventions with the exception of gtaV.exe being GTAVenhanced.exe so OpenIV Cannot see it. All OpenIV does is does all the manual work in modding. If Scripthook V and .net gets an update and ASi Loader(s) for the latest version then you wouldn't need OPENIV you can just do it yourself. That's the real issue. Beyond that many mods will still work.
There *WAS* a cease and desist but IIRC it was done by mistake or they worked it out between themselves and parent company TakeTwo actually allowed it in the end, hence why the website is still operational and downloads of the installer of OpenIV are still available directly from the developer.
OpenIV is also the only application to my knowledge that can open and modify and extract .rpf files and handle the various file formats within, which is how many mods are created to begin with.
There's a lot more different in Enhanced compared to Legacy, It's running completely in DX12 as a rendering API, It's using a new lighting system ( RTGI ), And likely running on a newer version of the RAGE engine.
To update OpenIV, It's going to take a lot longer than just a couple days, It'd have to be coded to support not one engine version but multiple to have support for both titles.
It WILL happen and OpenIV WILL get updated most likely, But it's going to take time to develop to add support.
Give it time, The modding community will see potential in this new version and will want support added as and when it's ready.
yeah iirc something was agreed upon between the openiv devs and Rockstar/Take Two hence why it's not shut down.
I haven't found a trainer that has been updated for VE. Anyone know where to find one that works for this update? No viruses please
PROBLEM FIXED
Probably renamed it back to its original file name?
S t yes and s t not
