Why did they remove the text chat?
I also lost 2 million buying the "free s95"

Probably because it's just a rushed console port, consoles never had text chat.

To be honest, I don't miss it at all. I'm sure a small part of the community likes not having the text chat.

Rockstar did this in RDR2 too. They decided the best way to filter "toxic chat" because people have skin thinner than a wet tissue anymore is to remove chat entirely. Beyond angry. That pissed me off so bad, I just converted my character.. I used to help so many newbies on chat and help them with the game.. can't anymore.

Because Rockstar was run over by thin skinned ideologically motivated asshats like every other big company. They pushed everyone out at Rockstar that made it what it was including Dan and Lazlow to "break up the boys club."

I was worried they'd pull this no-chat thing that ruined my RDR2 experience and I didn't expect them to do it in 5.

You know back in the day, and in games still unmoderated.. we'd actually just police ourselves and it was fine. This 'words are violence' thing needs to be, ironically, violently ended.

i literally came to discussion and found that i cant even make new friends anymore in game to ask people to help me deliver my cargo etc, no more inpromptu car meets

And how upset do you get for smth that flashed on the side of your screen for a second? The chat disappears that fast, but the connections made there last forever. And there's so much more.

That you don't make friends or are not interested in socializing in the game is fine. But the fact that the chat disappeared really affects those of us who used it to socialize and communicate during heists or in free mode. It's a fact that without the text chat, the game lobbies will now be much less sociable.

Regarding text chats. I prefer it off. Nothing but spamming, Russians refusing to talk English and people exercising their rights to be foul mouthed.
