Am I blind? I can't see the difference between ray tracing on and off...
Outside of my fps getting tanked on my 7800 xt, Is it only working for cinematics?

guessing it's because it's just a 1:1 port of AMD based console grade ray tracing which is typically not full scene global ray tracing Nvidia/PC users are used to, but just basic grade one bounce reflections and a little bit of shadow.

Currently installing so will see first hand shortly for myself and feedback.

RT is noticeable when you stand in front of shops and windows during a sunny day. Major difference there! Haven't played nights, yet.

You know how they say the human eye can't see the difference between 30fps and 60? lol Is this like that again?
People spending all that money on gpus and can't even see the difference in graphic settings. Gpus are becoming a status symbol. Its no wonder there's dlss, Nvidia was like, our customer can't even tell the difference with graphics all they care about is numbers.....give them high fps
Anyway you can get those numbers, 800fps and hope they never figure out what latency means...but at least they can't see graphical differences.
I'm not making fun, its just true. I've always been artistic so I notice subtle visual differences and people that aren't artistic will probably just want to see the numbers, more mathmatical.

Well it also matters if you pair a rubbish screen with a good gpu to how it looks as well :p if you are using say a VA panel... youre basically downgrading the GPU visual quality instantly for example.

The only difference I saw was the ultra exaggerated RT sunlight, which looks like a nuclear apocalypse just happened it appears weird and blurry. I play on max and the game looks about the same as the old version besides that.

That's called bloom. To deactivate this effect just use the "normal" preset for post processing
I was just about the ask the same thing!

I whacked all the graphics to the max with full RTX with a 4090 14900ks and it looks the same? Maybe some parts look slightly tiny bit better but otherwise it’s the same visually? Okay the cars look slightly shinier but it’s a shiny car… it wasn’t raining to test but then that’s one rain example.

I’m lost but I have an amazing OLED monitor as well so I know it’s not that. The game doesn’t even have HDR from what I can see but visually it looks the same to me.

That is true but then considering they have not announced GTA6 for PC, fixed the modders dropping money glitches faster than anything else in the game because it hurts their bottom line from the previous legacy version.

I did noticed some random issues like I cannot sell a car. Prices are still mad in game. Some weird reset issues with stuff but ultimately felt and looked the exact same. Might just uninstall and move on because it’s nothing interesting to me after about 250hrs in the legacy
its working, but looks like trash. im on a 6700 xt works fine, can do 1080p rtx all very high at 75fps.. you can notice it but looks way worst than rtx off... i was testing it and i prefer playing rtx OFF. all on ultra and 3200x1800 75 fps lock at 80% usage of gpu 160W than 1080p all ultra rtx on 60 fps lock 194W looking awfull

Yea I wouldnt expect GTA6 on PC as they will want a 12 month exclusivity to sell the toy boxes first.

What about at night time try looking at the neon signs, and neon lights, They should have a pop out 3d effect to them.
For me night time is much more noticable.
Also shading looks better, so characters should look more real due to shading and less flat. Its hard to describe good shading, should make characters pop out as well. -only way I can think of putting it.

k

btw im a 3D animator & graphical artist. i have 80k subs on youtube and my animations have received millions of views. just stating that to let you know i do have an artistic eye of sorts and im seeing very little to no difference with the Enhanced update. But like i said earlier, i believe this may be an issue with mine and OP's 7000 series cards. I actually have a 6700 in a cheaper budget PC i use for TV & VR gameplay... i'll check out Enhanced on that later on and see if i can see a difference there.

cant do? mate, i can do ray tracing. it doesnt matter if its software or dedicated. i can do it. only diff its performance, and performance here isnt the problem. i can see the real time reflections or the ray traced lights and shadows... but looks bad even in ultra. regular reflections looks 10x times better.... it doesnt matter how you render. RTX or Software dxr both will look same, only diff is performance.. have a rtx too, but less powerfull a 3050 and looks the same, but she cant handle even 1440p only 1080p and on dlss to do ray tracing and looks considerably worst than the rx6700xt. i know and one its 2 times a 3050.. but talking about the quality of ray tracing looked tha same in both at sames qualitys... usually its the same quality in all the games. only performance its the diff..
Just go to the areas they censored. You will see the difference between this game and the original.
