Petition to bring back text chat

The game is now pretty much unplayable without text chat, please return text chat.

I mean Rockstar surely should be able to filter this no? A multiplayer PC game with no text chat is kinda lame.

wow I didnt even realize there was no text chat....that blows. good portion of the friend I played with only used text. At this rate I guess ill cancel my gta+ and go back to legacy, Im not really seeing a big difference in enhanced enough to deal with these issues as is.

I use to play with friends in closed lobbies. Since not all of them use a separate voice chat, the text chat is mandatory for communication and coordination during missions.

Therefore i strongly support the readdition of the text chat! A lot of online functionality would be lost otherwise!

Same, lots of friends I've had in the 10 years of playing GTA have only used text chat, and I even opted for disabling voice chat due to the disgusting language people use on it compared to text chat which people can easily be screenshot and reported by ANYONE playing, not just us streamers/content creators who are the only people that would catch inappropriate voice chats.

This is in the patch notes:
Added new notifications that appear for remote players when a player is suspended from voice or text chat while in session
Players will now see Help Text alerting them how to turn off PC text chat when first sending or receiving a message

I guess they forgot to put it back in due to this being a port? It looks like it wasn't intentionally removed, judging by this.

I was so disappointed when I saw there’s no chat in the game. It was so easy to find someone for a heist or just chat, but now I have to open the Rockstar overlay to message, which is such a hassle and super inconvenient. I don’t want to give every random person my Discord or add them as friends on Social Club just for one game in Kayo. I really hope they bring the chat back.

Rockstar do plan to bring it back to PC, but I don't know when.

We have a keyboard right in front of us. I will never upgrade to enhanced until they add text chat back. We pay so much money for PC gaming and we can't use our keyboard to talk. Makes me sick. I won't play red dead online without text chat. Makes me sick they would removed features and call it enhanced. Only single player is good on enhanced

yeah that was a patch note from legacy before enhanced got released
