How does one do that, are there setting for that in the options or where?

While in online - menu - find a new session. Choose it and it will give you the options.
It also presents you with the same options if you try to join online from a singleplayer menu.

There are also some controller settings which you can only configure while in story mode, so I've always been in the habit of going to story mode, then launching into an Invite Only session from there (in the pre-BattleEye days).
