I have disabled the fps limit setting, and it strangely shows 120 frames per second....

i thought it was at 180?
Legacy had a hard engine cap 188fps but could experience nonsense before that.
Considering they let you 'limit fps' to 120, and have an uncapped - this is likely just another slotted bugfix, like benchmark not appearing til a certain place in story, and on and on.

Also got the cap, even with the limiter set to off, vsync on/off doesnt matter either.

Game engine "breaks" at around 187.5 FPS when stutters can occur, however some physics and stuff break at 120 FPS. But they should allow for users to run above 187.5 FPS.

FiveM allows you to run up to 564 FPS without problems, nothing breaks and everything works, FiveM is basically GTA5 but improved..
This is what they promised
[Enhanced support for higher resolutions and frame rates] WHERE ARE THOSE HIGHER FRAMERATES!? People have DLSS and FSR as well for crying out loud, not that I want to use it for my own rig, but still. I could get an almost locked 144fps on my 7900xtx and 9800x3D on legacy with the similar settings I have on in this Downgraded framerate version, and all of a sudden, we are going backwards. All they have to do is flip a switch, to fix this.... Please Rockstar, Flip that switch and give us At least 187.5 clean fps, if the game breaks at higher fps, and double that with FSR3 and how ever many more frames with DLSS.

It's neither, stop spreading nonsense. The game worked fine for almost a decade with uncapped framerate, most likely reason they capped it is because they plan on adding crossplay at some point, and they don't want console players to whine about losing races due to their inferior hardware.

Nah, it breaks at 180+.
Tested it 100 times over the years and i can always replicate the engine stutters when setting a higher fps.

so is crossplay confirmed or not?? cause i cant find ♥♥♥♥ about it, and a newer version of the game doesnt make that much sense without it.
Fps cap removed with update overnight? Nice.
It's been fixed, people. Thank you Rockstar,
why not 2575
