GTA Online - does it require migration from Legacy to Enhanced?

Hello!
Currently, GTA 5 is not installed for me, but I do wanna know what to do.
To continue my gameplay on GTA Online, does it require the migration from Legacy to Enhanced, as well? Or is it only for the Story Mode?
