The legacy edition is for those that can't run the game under the new requirements or they play modded V ( FiveM etc ) until support for modding is extended to the enhanced edition later through patching.

so its like separate games i can just download the new edition and play story and gta online without the older one
separate clients yep.
If you don't play with mods, you can safely uninstall Legacy and install enhanced.
but if you plan to play modded aswell as enhanced, You'll need to keep both copies installed.
nope, if your friends can't run enhanced, you'll have to stick with Legacy to play with them in GTAO
