In the minimum requirements it says "SSD REQUIRED". Is it really mandatory? Just because you don't have an SSD, you shouldn't install it or is that exaggerated?

See, I'm not being hyperbolic. I'm not being nice, sure, but if you don't have an SSD in 2025, you haven't been playing games all that much. Even consoles have had them for like 5 years now. Once the reality of how much time you spent on loading screens kicks in for playing on HDD that long, you'll have an existential crisis

I have no problem with you trying to open my eyes to buy me an SSD, I just didn't think it was urgent since I don't usually have problems when playing, but I see that I have to move on, I got used to the usual loading times. Anyway, there really was no reason to be hostile and insult for the sake of insulting. ty all the same

SSDs are probably the fastest upgrade to PCs in the last 10 -15 years. Even older CPUs and GPUs don't show the gains that an SSD would show over HDD.

Faster texture streaming requires faster storage to stream the textures from. Can you get by without a SSD in this version of the game? Probably. Will it be an enjoyable gaming experience? Probably not.

SSD’s are so cheap these days. We’re talking under $20 in many cases. So the SSD requirement isn’t really a big deal, in my opinion. If you want modern features in games, expect to have to use modern hardware.

It will most likely use DirectStorage which means to make use of the "faster loading times" you will need to install it on a m.2 aka nvme drive, Sata SSD's don't support directstorage.

So although a SATA SSD will work you won't have the "best" experience and I certainly wouldn't go trying a HDD save those for PS4 era games

for classics up to ps4 era they are fine, i personally don't, not even sata ssd installed, but yeah certain games still have their place.
Besides if people have the spec to play this game in the first place then they can sure afford a cheap-o m.2 as even that is better than sata.

"but i don't have a m.2 slot" if you have a spare PCI-e slot you can get expansion cards that allow m.2's
