Aww, looks like I offended your sorry wittle feelings. But you're another case of outrage that could have spent your time far more productively, buying yourself an SSD instead of posting in outrage that an enhanced version of a game exceeds your TI-83 calculator's specs.
See, I'm not being hyperbolic. I'm not being nice, sure, but if you don't have an SSD in 2025, you haven't been playing games all that much. Even consoles have had them for like 5 years now. Once the reality of how much time you spent on loading screens kicks in for playing on HDD that long, you'll have an existential crisis
SSD’s are so cheap these days. We’re talking under $20 in many cases. So the SSD requirement isn’t really a big deal, in my opinion. If you want modern features in games, expect to have to use modern hardware.
So although a SATA SSD will work you won't have the "best" experience and I certainly wouldn't go trying a HDD save those for PS4 era games
I wouldnd install games on a HDD in todays time. For movies ok. for games, nagh.
Besides if people have the spec to play this game in the first place then they can sure afford a cheap-o m.2 as even that is better than sata.
"but i don't have a m.2 slot" if you have a spare PCI-e slot you can get expansion cards that allow m.2's
