STAR WARS™: Dark Forces

free mouse setting?
is there a way to be able to look up and down with the mouse? not just side to side.

I don't think so. I've only seen it in a mod such as brutal doom. Plus the game is not disigned for that, even with doom's brutal mod the game looks wierd when you look up and down

Page up and Page down are how you look down and up respectively.

i just want to bind mousewheel up and down to page up and down but no luck, no options for mouse bindings in dosbox with ctrl+f1 (but have got flashlight on f and crouch on ctrl which imrpoves the game a great deal anyway). I have read a couple of things that allow it, i think darkXL? or some other download mod thing... anyway I would prefer the option in dosbox, as i am trying to get as authentic an experience as possible (never played this until now) but some things, like looking up and down, just can't be lived without in this day and age. I'm doing fine, there's very few places where you NEED to look up or down, and auto aim does a good job, but it would just be nice to quickly glimpse up or down for judging jumps or exploring a large/vertical space, without drifting a hand over to pgup/dwn

Mayhaps you could try getting a logitech mouse and binding certain buttons to keypresses.

Understandable. Go to a thrift store, maybe.

right now times are hard and i can't afford thrift, even getting a meal each day is a bigger concern lol, at some point i intend to upgrade all my hardware, including computer, keyboard and mouse, tv, monitor, desk, etc, but thats a ways off of being likely just now

I don't want to be presumptuous, but isn't paying for the internet bandwidth necessary for TF2 a bit more expensive than a mouse if times are hard?

XPadder is an awesome piece of software and well worth the price. It will remap anything to anything. Great for game controllers too.

UPDATE: 12/04/2020 Sadly, Due to reconfigurations with the latest patch there is no longer a way to look up or down PgUp and PgDwn no longer function unfortunately.
