Greetings,

I had the same problem. I didnt see a point for a CD/DVD drive with my build, but for some reason this game always looks for a CD/DVD drive (even an empty one) before allowing you to enter the game.

Try one of these:

You can download a virtual optical drive (CD/DVD) software like the one from slysoft.com: Virtual Clone Drive (Freeware). It's a handy ISO mounting tool, but for our purposes it looks like a normal optical drive to the game.

After you install the software you should notice a new "BD-ROM drive" on your system. The drive letter does not matter. Re-launch the game. It should skip the insert disk message and take you to the LucasArts logo..=D

If you are running Windows 8, 8.1, or 10 and you don't want to add extra software to your system. You can right-click any .ISO file and select mount. Windows will mount a virtual cd/dvd drive containing the files from the ISO. This also tricks the game that you have a CD drive. You would have to do this before launching the game.

NOTE: Windows Vista and Windows 7 do not have the built-in ISO mount feature. You will have to use the first fix.

I hope this helps.
Thanks for the help. The virtual drive actually worked. However this is sub par by the developers since such virtual drive tools get blocked out by certain other horrible DRM protections so this might cause issues with other games in the long run.
I really wonder if i should sent a support ticket so they add a warning that u have to have an optical drive in your pc unless you want to deal with some craptools that mount virtual drives.

Download and extract the JKMCRACK.EXE Patch from the File Archive to the game directory. Run the EXE to remove the CD Check from the EXE. That is all.

The part that looks like all hearts before the .com is game copy world (no spaces)

To begin the game, it is necessary that the disk via the disk drive was connected to the computer. If you have no disk drive, you can simply connect the phone through USB.
