Also I'm rarely farming it and only because it's the last thing for me to do in the demo aside from just having fun playing from time to time.
Once damage was more than enough I started stacking survival skills (regardless I was a bit greedy and started doing that too late and couldn't handle the boss).
I've been considering stacking extra move speed as well in order to be able to outrun the boss, that seems to really help on higher waves as it allows you to chip in damage with your normal attacks and controlling the encounter.
Amazing game, hadn't had so much fun with a demo, can't wait for the full game to release.
Honestly I found it more to do with early game RNG. If you roll on max items with all the stats you want before the 10 minute mark, you can pretty safely make it post 40 - since every item after that is only upgrading your existing kit. Other runs, I keep having to re-roll because I keep getting stuff I don't want or just items with the same stats, so you are unable to upgrade your character as well over time with souls / items, and spend way too long getting the kit to keep up with enemy scaling.
Regardless, yeah I agree, the game looks to be designed around more options which we don't currently have - which honestly is a good thing :D
EDIT: Finally got a hunter to 37 - but the guy is too squishy, so you fall off hard and instantly the moment the enemy scaling reaches a critical point.
This is so true, my best run i lost all 10 lifes at the start of a new round after a boss. also 37 iirc
Tips for Ritual Grounds - Endless Mode
- Leap: Bunny hopping, it's the most important ability because it lets you become temporarily immune while flying through the air, refreshes your movement ability, and generates energy. If you don't have enough damage at the moment you slowly whither down the mobs while mostly avoiding being hit back.
For All Ancient Armor (Orange drops with passive skills IE Whirlwind etc.) Skip Grey drops, and only equip one Artifact (purple) to farm Rerolls. Once you have 5+ Rerolls you can upgrade blue drops to get Ancient armor. I started leaving blue drops on the ground until I have enough Rerolls or use it later to upgrade your stats via once you have all of your armor slots filled.
Equipment
- Movement Charge - more Leaps, critical to staying alive
- Damage Increased to Injured Enemies - Seems to scale well enough
- Movement Speed per Life Lost - You will also want Movement speed stat on one of your armor
- Damage Taken Reduced per Life Lost
- Projectile Pierce - Better for late game boss fights since you can still hit the boss through the minions
FYI: Execute is either bugged or not worded properly. It's not triggering on Bosses unless they are below 20-30% health.
Don't think it's so much "double bosses" as the miniboss that appears mid-wave with all the enemy spam, doesn't die before the end wave boss spawns - so you end up fighting both :) At least from what I've seen at 40 and 45 (didn't get past that- mostly because it was taking about half an hour to kill the boss at that point - so I just gave up half way lol)
I feel like nothing else I've tried has managed to get me past 40. Has anyone managed to go past 40 with a hunter or 2h weapon?

I've gotten into the low 40's with 2 handed weapons. You need to pick an ancient armor with Instant Attack and not pick any whirlwinds because you will run into Ancient bosses as a melee.
Yes. I tried different ones, and this build is good by far:
- Dodge, Movement recharges/ recharge rate for surviving.
- Projectile amount, Projectile piercing, Damage increased to injury for eliminating the enemies.
After wave 50, the game frame rate drops to 1 FPS when surrounded by enemies. I can't kill a single enemy...
Sheeesh with all t2 upgrades. I feel like a noob! What is the secret?
An initial run in the new endless Arena of Ikar as a Thief reaching Wave 31.
