Is there a single vampire survivor like game that does co op? So I can see how this would work.
Every one of these issues would be solved by simply sharing XP and leveling up at the same time. Pause until both people have chosen, then carry on.
Edit: The game "Bounty of One" does it this way, you can look up some videos on it.
Did that game ever finish the way you connect to each other?
Me and my buddies just couldn't ever join, tried so many times. (been a year though since we just gave up)
not sure if you meant other than vampire survivors but i know vampire survivors has a local coop and if the multiplayer one isnt out yet they said that had been working on it like 8 months ago
Some games let you boost or slingshot one player and that develops into a proper strategy. Other games drop individual loot so there's no competition. None of the issues you bring up has not been solved by 100s of games before.
No need to stop playing if the game have a library about every skill/weapon.
They can make a near transparent windon "Press 1, 2, 3 for upgrade" with no tooltip, just easy to learn skills simbols.
Just sort Steam of any form of Roguelike with Online Co-op. There's a handful of games like this with co-op. They all do it differently whether it's by leveling at the same time, offering invuln and turning off weapons while a person is leveling up, or leveling at end-of level moments. The most common method is probably everybody selects at the same time and is on a timer while XP is shared.
EDIT: Because I forgot, Vampire Survivors is co-op.
*EDIT I was going to mention how XP would just be shared similar to games like it, but it seems others answered already <3
