one game start i picked shields.... and the weapons i was offered was 2 handed weapon, 2 handed weapon and dual wield. where's my shield?

the next time i think i picked 2 handed weapon (not sure, could have picked bow by mistake?)... and the weapon choices were 3 bows..

bows seem to allow me survive a lot longer.

armor choices.. eventually i came across armor sets.. had 1 choice of the set i 1st picked for the first gear pick ups... until one time, where i had to reroll about 3 times..

The scroll on the bottom right of character select shows what they can use, you might need to reroll if you pick barbarian as they get a lot of weapons.

also... this has some odd resolution picking.

desktop is 4k, game has 3 options... 4k, 2560x1600, 2048x1536

.... whatever happened to good old 1080p?

It should show all the resolutions your monitor supports. Might be limited from OS side. If you want to use a custom resolution you can open Settings.ini file from the game's base install folder and edit the Resolution from there.

pretty sure it's this game. i have no issues with way too many resolutions showing up in other games,

Do you have a dual monitor setup?

no. just a 39" 4k monitor on a (haha) 970 XD as i sit a metre+ away
desktop is 4k resolution at 250% zoom. but that shouldn't explain why only 3 highest resolutions are listed.
