3d acceleration
Need help. I'm running win xp with Nvidia GTX295. Is there a simple way to get the game to run with 3d acceleration without having to go all over the net to download zipped files, etc. The game plays fine without 3d acceleration but even when I played this way back in the day I was able to use the 3d capabilities so its very difficult to even look at the blocky, pixelated unaccelerated version. Any guidance appreciated.

You're likely going to have no choice but to use the 3D acceleration fix from the JKHUB[www.jkhub.net].

Here's a direct link to the download:
http://www.jkhub.net/project/get.php?id=1804

It's as simple as dropping the ddraw.dll into the game's directory.

Hi, one more last gasp here. I cant find the game's directory. When I conduct a search of my computer and drives all I get are the shortcuts. I can find other Steam games in my program files or other places on the computer but not JKDFII. Any ideas where the directory might be?

The directory should be similar to this:

Steam/Steamapps/common/Star Wars Jedi Knight

To use 3d acceleration you need these things

- AMD 13.1 WHQL IT HAS TO BE THIS ONE!!!!!

-Do the ddraw.dll fix

- Run JK.exe (application) from the
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Jedi Knight Folder

-Set to run as admin and windows xp service pack 2

Now you have 3D Acceleration :) Been working on this for 3 days now hah

Everything Tony Stark said is worth trying except for the 13.1 WHQL, as the GTX 295 is an Nvidia GPU ;)

*Edit
Oh, and also the XP service pack 2 isn't necassary, as you're running XP.

Hate to admit it but I'm finally beat down on this. I cant get 3d acceleration to save my life. I've followed all of the steps given. Dropping the ddraw.ll into the game directory didnt work. I downloaded the file from JKHUB but when I unzipped it I didn't get a JKVERSION.EXE. Got the updater (which doesn't apply to STEAM anyway) and JK.DLL. Nothing seems to work. Guess I'll have to make do with the memories of this great game. It's almost painful to look at this game in software mode after youve played it 3d accelerated. Well, it was worth a try. Many thanks for all the help.

Time to Bless your soul Ah your in that issue You have 3d Accelarator working I have a workaround you need the 1.00 version wich you can get from http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=511&section=downloads << Download the top file and just open It you will see 3 JK versions get the 1.00 Beacause there Is a file you need to extract both the JK extensions and 1.00 to the JK folder you have the game installed then get http://www.moddb.com/mods/todoa/news/3d-acceleration-fix open It when your done downloading then extract the JK.dll and Draw.dll and updatear Run the updater start then go to JK Make a shorcut and then when your done put It to your desktop Run as admin and Windows service pack 2-3 Then put the res to highest and 3d accelarator on <3 <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
