A lovely little game, plays similar to Bastion

Sorry but this game is not good enough for me.

The developers tried to create a beautiful and epic game, but the game mechanics are terrible. Combat is a meme and game turns very boring since the beginning.

I really don't recommend to play this game. There are a lot of different viking vibes games with better mechanics and great hook than Jotun.

1/10. Controls are so janky I don't even know where to begin. There's no concept of momentum; your character comes to an abrupt halt at the end of a roll and then stops receiving input. Your weapon swings after a tiny bit of delay, and then stops receiving input again. You're supposed to be the conqueror of Jotun, yet the game makes you feel like you're swinging a giant floppy wet noodle.

The biggest flaw of this game is that it's fundamentally a 2D game masquerading as a 3D game, resulting in one of the most atrocious hitboxes I've ever seen implemented. Graphics fail to deliver a convincing sense of depth, and its shadows—which are completely static—are inconsistently applied throughout the game. Objects collide when they don't seem like they're going to; pretty sure there's no physics engine so you're often left confused about what works or what doesn't.

A bit bland, but still some good fun.

Good music, great art style, terrible combat

Beautiful art, fitting music and atmosphere,
but due to rather boring gameplay (mostly walking and light attacking) not as enjoyable as it could be. Heavy attack feels useless. Some later obtained powers are strong but extremely limited, thus not adding much fun. I assume the developer aimed at a slow pacing, which makes sense somehow, but it is not realized in an engaging way.

The amazing art design on the bosses (which are the most interesting part of the game), is a flaw at the same time, because it is not always clear where the collision and hit boxes are.

Good indie isometric game! Can recommend if you love the Nordic themes at play here and enjoy isometric gameplay.

There's no gameplay, ♥♥♥♥ is a walking simulator with the worst combat I've ever seen. The map is useless as it doesn't show your location and it's just so confusing.

The game doesn't deserve its animations.

Skip this one for your life.

Jotun is the first game from the devs and I think it's a good game considering that. It looks great and I liked the setting. I had no problems with the gameplay or the technology.
However, it's not that long if you only play the story and the full price is a bit expensive.
