What language is the narration in? It sounds like Icelandic. The woman's voice is especially beautiful.

I'm glad I was able to discern that. Now only if I could muster up my years and years of gaming skills to get past Jera. I honestly don't know why I'm having trouble with her.

The bosses in Jotun are meant to be hard, so failing a few time is normal. However, non of them are mandatory to progress (well beside reaching the end of the game). As soon as Jera's door is open, you may go back to the hub anytime by pressing start and selecting the option. From there you can go explore the other regions, collect more powers and come back for her later.
