I keep seeing people say this, but I am 99% sure you just buy special moves you don't need to learn them from a mentor.

First off, is there even a skin tone slider in the customization screen?

Secondly, DBZ historically has supported a lot of racial undertones, intentional or not. I'm not even really suggesting Mr. Popo either.

Just look at the SSJ transformation. It changes all saiyans to have blonde hair (attributed to caucasians) and green eyes (attributed to caucasians). The closest thing to black people in DBZ would probably be Namekians.

If Dragon Ball ever failed in any respect, it certainly was showing diversity of the planet. Not that DBZ was made for that (it was made to be an action story for Japanese kids), but unless Dimps said such an option was possible, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Yes, there is. You can even make your character blue or red if you wanted.

A recent commerical shows an Earthling/Saiyan (could have been either) with red skin and white hair, who looked like a member of Jeice's race. It also shows a green Majin, a purple Majin, and a blue Namekian.

That's good to hear. I wasn't expecting the customization to be this robust, given the variety in races already and having both genders available. I'm sure it will lead to some ridiculous looking characters online.

what are you saying? From Dragon ball to dragon ball Z frieza saga there was diversity in the planet like humans, people like looked like animals but walked only with their feet and were intelligent and knew how to talk, of course after that they all turned into normal humans

Well I did have an idea for a character who would be a teenaged dark-skinned saiyan girl in civvie clothing (and having a tail if possible) from a more peaceful colony/offshoot as one of the many concepts mucked around with in my head after hearing about characer creation,
Maybe having her as weaker normally but with the ability to go super saiyan to represent hidden potential?

Of course I also had an idea for a male saiyan (not black, don't actually have anything in mind for his skin colour specifically) who had been sent to attack a world as a kid as standard but had got beaten down, then instead of finishing him off they taught the kid the ways of peace.
Would be a big guy in monk clothing and a shaved head with his tail wrapped around his waist like a belt, peaceful and contemplative with a respect for life, would have given him the giant ape transformation if it was a thing.

I guess if you are looking for more black characters instead I also had the idea for a human.
Big guy with earth clothing and a hat, like in his normal life he was a trucker or something. Would be a strong guy with all physical or grappling special moves instead of ki attacks, not giving him the ki-charge technique to ensure the pure unarmed combat aspect of him. A boisterous brawler type of guy who enjoys a good brawl to unwind after work.
