DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE

Dear Devs, [You can read it, I promise]
There are quite a few things that need to be addressed, Devs... Customizable auras, customizable combat stances, SUPER SAIYAN COSMETICS FOR ALL THE HAIR OPTIONS [yeah that's right I'm calling you out, the lack of that was REALLY lazy... all those hair options and none of them spike up unless they're already spikey... really? Come on...] (those were things that DBZUT... the abomination that should never really have existed... got right). The clothing in UT had a null effect to stats which meant you could just customize at your leisure, which is how it should be.

Another thing that needs to happen, and should be patched in along with the aforementioned things because it should have been a part of the game to begin with, is that when the story cutscenes have you and the other characters from the universe "powering up", your character should ACTUALLY power up... if you ended the match in Kaioken/Super Saiyan [all variants] or even if you're just in your base form, you should be generating an aura FOR THOSE when your character gets into his combat stance. Just a little nuiance that drives me absolutely insane... when say... Goku goes Super Saiyan 3, and your character stands there like a dolt without even powering up... if it were me I'd have hopped right into Kaioken x20 mode, regardless of what happens in the cutscene (my main is a Kaioken Earthling).

One more thing is that during story cutscenes where your character seems to be yelling/laughing/getting angry... there is ZERO voice acting. I know VAs aren't cheap and the voice inputs can be dodgy sometimes, but come on... don't halfass it...

Seriously, other than the things mentioned above, I love the game, I'll play it to death. But the lack of those disappoints me, and many others as I'm sure you've no doubt been made aware.

Time to step up Devs. Do you want to be remembered as the guys who didn't want to do this stuff because of sheer laziness and "budget cuts" (let's be honest, that's not the real reason, because although DBZUT was a garbage game, it got those aspects right)... or do you want to be remembered as the dev team who redefined what it means to make a game for the fans, and because you love your jobs, and complete this title the way it deserves to be completed?

The choice is yours.

I've always been a DBZ fan, and I'll never stop. I'm almost 30, and I still love the series. Sometimes I still draw some little comic strips and insert myself into the universe... and Xenoverse actually made it a reality. A bit twisty at times, but still done decently. I will enjoy this game for months, and maybe years... because it's always fun to replay storymode and feel like a boss and do things differently, recustomize, etc etc.

So, if I was rude at all in my post, my apologies. I believe I was making a point, but it is not my intention to get on anyone's bad side. Just making the thoughts of a beloved fanbase known to the best of my abilities.

Thanks Jannenba. Appreciate the +1. I'm bumping this, because it needs to be read.
More accessory slot.

I'd love to use Pan's bandana and tapion sword to make a character similar to Dragon Quest VIII
Way too much about this game says "half*ssed". Before they add barely passable story missions or new characters, costumes and moves in DLC I would really like to see them fill in the gaps.

Implement proper customisation including proper SSJ hair styles and the ability to colour-customise clothing sets. Allow players to pick fighting styles and chose aura colours. Remove the stupid linking of stats to costumes. Show a bit of creativity and initiative when it comes to the in-game economy, (everyone's a multi-millionaire and has nothing to spend money on.) Fix the glaringly obvious errors during the story mission like the lack of proper gender-specific pronouns and dialogue bloopers like "thanks for helping, Pan". Give players a proper chat system. Stop basing everything around lazy RNG coding. Actually think about transformation options for non-Saiyan characters and what gameplay effects they could have, (how cool would it be to have the dark aura as a transformation. Or Gohan-style Mystic. Or Vegeta-style Majin possession. Or Freiza-style alternate forms. It could be done.)

So much could be done. There is a long list of things that would make this game so much better. I give permission for the developer to put a halt on DLC until this sort of thing is addressed. Hell, I'd even accept this sort of thing AS DLC because in the end it's going to make the game far more enjoyable than Pan as a mentor, or a four-fight story addition, or additional characters.
Ty speaks truth. There are many gaps to fill.
"The clothing in UT had a null effect to stats which meant you could just customize at your leisure, which is how it should be"

Could've just made it so you can wear two sets, one for appearance and another for stats. If none is worn for appearance then the one for stats are used for both.

Or

Missions drop upgrades that you can mix into costumes to add the stats
Turtle Hermit (King Kai): Adds + 2 [Health] and [Ki Blast Supers] and reduces [Basic Atk] and by 2.

As for the hair part...customization isn't usually a big thing in a fighting game especially one that's made to sell towards fans of a series, usually they'd focus on the characters itself. But Xenoverse was supposed to put You into the universe so a bit more customization really would've been nice and then there's the some forms of characters missing.

VA...it might've partially been the fact that if a VA didn't sound the part at any point, there was no way to change the VA and people would complain so a silent protagonist was kinda okay.

It's a great game, not that I've gone online much (once for a quest) and these are things the game can do without, but for a fanservice game that would appeal to fans of the anime and manga, the points made by OP would really make a lot of people happy to see IMO.
I'm glad to see I'm not crazy and others are of the same mind with respect to the points I've made... I'd like to see what others in the community have to say... don't be shy. Perhaps it's in vain, but maybe, JUST maybe, the devs might actually take action if enough people speak up... optimism is something that is lacking, as is the want to appeal to a fanbase... nowadays it's only about money, and that is NOT what the making of games was based on at the start... time to go back to the way things were and actually put in the extra effort, Devs.
It's sad to say that you wasted your time. But you did. I highly doubt they'll ever do this. :/

Also, to mention, that Saiyans only have tails if they are wearing armors that have them. :/
did not read wall O text
+1 i agree this game has the potential to keep me in it for a long long time!
however there are gaps and lacks to be filled and fixed.

please take a note Developers! go to the Designers try to make it right! try to refine the game and don't settle for medium, go for the BEST!
+1 on this.

I would really like the option of having you hairstyle go spikey when you go Super/Kaioken or w/e your powerup is instead of just a colorchange...
Speaking of powering up, I love the idea of my char powering up in cutscenes when s*** is getting real.

And if it has allready been done in another game previous to this one, It shouldnt be that hard to implement it here should it?

Dont get me wrong, I love this game allready, I've been a hardcore Dragonball fan for many, many years allready.. (i'm 33 and i still watch DBZ/GT almost every day)
I play DBXV hours on end day in day out, But these changes would really give it that extra Dragonball feeling you also have when watching the show/series.
Dont forget to REMOVE any ATTRIBUTE from CLOTHES to make them purely cosmetic.
DC Universe Online also does something similair to what someone states in this thread.
You can obtain clothes with certain values, equip them but then alter the look of you character without losing any of the values you put on it.
Should be possible with this game aswell.
I'm glad to see that some of you have shown an interest in this post... I'm sad that many probably will not read it, like Mil-argo... out of laziness or lack of care... but we know what it is that needs to happen, and the devs probably know too. Cutting corners is not the solution...
well, since there are people complaining
I want to say one thing about localization to Russia.
(don't hate me, i can play with English too but it is still WORST TRANSLATION EVER!)
Seriously, who the hell was translating this game?
Vegeta where all e are spelled same? In English it's fine sith it can be both "e" and "i" but in Russian it's NOT. Don't you know that his name sound like Vejita or Bejita?!
Gogeta all g is "G" that spelled as "Гогета" (to english people, just use G from Goku) and same problem with e as in Vegeta.
About Kaioshin i am REALLY mad. They mention "Kai" as NAME.
LAZY F A G G O T S! That never watched anime!
