Clothing Color Customization Problem

I'm going to try to make this short and sweet. I picked the Changeling(Frieza) race in the game, and I currently have the Hero Suit equipped to my character (which is color customizable). I took note of the rainbow colored icon next to the article of clothing in the clothing shop. I've watched videos on YouTube of people customizing their clothing, yet I can only customize my character's Upper/Lower body (skin tone), hands, and feet. I do not understand why I can't customize my character's white armor or purple gem. It urks me because I've been playing Xenoverse since launch and have seen tons of awesome Changeling designs throughout the game. Can someone please help me? Is it a bug of some sort? Am I the only one going through this? I really want to take advantage of customizing the color of the clothing/armor that I buy. This does the same thing with my Bio Armor (armor given at the beginning of the game/default).

I believe some of the "armor" that your referring to seeing on your character, along with the gems/globes around frieza race's body, are part of their skin, it's chosen when you create the character. and if your not wanting to restart, you can always gather the dragon balls with that character and wish to change your looks, and you can change all your body's colors, looks, face, everything.
